Well we do have a opening now that Lee is leaving.
Maybe Frost thinks we'll lose one more. Kid looks like a very good runner and could possibly play WR.
He’s only guessing. There’s been a few that have it stuck in there heads OBrein or Gebbia may leave. Although they both made it very clear there hyped and ready to get to work with Frost and learn his system. We still have some fans obsessed with this idea one will leave. No idea why they even like that idea...the more QBs the better...the more 4 star QBs we have stocked up under Frost, the better chances one pans out and tears up the BIG10. I don’t see either one leaving. Again he’s just guessing.

Didn't Martinez have arm or shoulder surgery? Maybe there going after another quarterback for insurance in case Martinez needs more time to heal
He is going to play in the UA high school all star game in January.
He'll get plenty of time to recover. I read something that he had like a 4 to 6 month recovery period and that was an article from back in April.
More likely Lee opened up a spot for another QB to come in.
Martinez should be fully recovered. Just hope he doesn't get dinged up in the UA game..
As for recruiting another QB, it's important for someone to redshirt this coming year, keep the pipeline flowing. Wouldn't sunrise me to see Frost play up to 3 QB's next year, depending on how each one does.

Not likely at all. IF I recall correctly, Frost said that ideally we would have 4-5 scholarship QBs on our roster. We just lost one so that leaves us with just 3 in the QB room with Martinez. We NEED to have at least 4 scholarship QBs IMO. One every year at the very least. Maybe Bunch earns a scholarship too, but with Lee's departure we need another scholarship worthy QB.
He had the benefit of playing behind a fantastic offensive line, probably the best in the nation that season.
Who would that be? Do you mean Andrew Bunch? He's not from an Iowa JUCO and I mentioned him. 4-5 SCHOLARSHIP QBs and Bunch is a walk on at this point.
Not highly recruited, but if Rich Rod thinks he can play QB then he's certainly worth a look. My take is that he committed early to the home state school and that, plus the fact that he's not a five star sure fire stud, kept a lot more offers from coming his way. I wonder why he didn't sign in December?
With Lee leaving, that only puts 3 scholarship QB's on the roster going into fall. I think NU needs at least 4 scholarship QB's on the roster during the season. You want as much competition as possible and you never know when an injury or transfer will happen. Nobody knows who the starter will be till maybe the end of fall camp, so the talk of anyone transferring right now is premature.
Gebbia or POB - one of those two will finish their college career on the bench if they stay at Nebraska. Frost did not recruit these QBs and from this day forward, QBs who better fit his system will be recruited and signed. The picture will get clearer soon as it will get partially sorted out at Spring practice but you have to believe that Martinez gets the longest look.
