Was thinking about getting my dad a subscription for Christmas. Is it worth it? What do you all get with a subscription? Is it just recruiting info? Anything else?

Thanks in advance.

I was a RSS subscriber for over 1O+years- if your dad loves this stuff- get it. I stopped because I had kids and most of the posters that gave valued content left and then it became stale.... but that was 7 years ago so I have no idea the state of the board now. If he breathes Husker football but would never do it for himself—— great gift

That's me. No way I would fork over the dough, but I would love for someone else to pay for me and let me have that "inside knowledge" available.

Maybe just to see what Sean C and the other guys have to say or to read their articles that are only for premium subscribers.

Sometimes the "premium" info is soon put out there on some of the other websites or Twitter so there is no need to pay for that info.

Sometimes I see a premium article on this website and come to this board to find someone talking about it. I might find that someone has insider info or they just pay to read the stuff that I can't and pretend to be an insider or to have close connections to the team.

Either way, if I can get the info for free and it doesn't take but a few minutes for the premium info to get out to the public, then I will gladly stay being the cheap bastard that I am.

Sean is awesome but you have to remember he is up there all the time so he can’t be too cutting....

I don't know if I would. Chances are the internet is going to slow to dial-up speed (if we are lucky!)

Actually, OWH gets most of the stuff out as quickly. Lots of I know more than you. The good members from the past are not around much if at all. They have been driven off by members who just want to fight

It's basically a fraternity where people who can't make friends pay for other people who pretend to know something about the huskers to tell them about husker football. All the good posters like Sam I am, Louisiana Husker, Nebraska fan in Wisconsin, 4-3D, HTO, etc have all left. Those guys need to come back I say. Really the only asset they have is bob father. Dude just gets life.

you get the same info here about 5 minutes later. except instead of a statement, its in question form.
ex:
rss = honas has signed loi.
hb = has honas signed loi...?
Exactly all the inside info is posted here about 5 minutes later. Nobody knows anything more than what gets posted here.

False. People that post or have posted here do not post even close to what they know. And you are pretty much a prime example why.

The articles and stories are where the value lies. Nate, Sean, Mike and Bryan post some great stories during the year.

If you are going to join, now is the time to do it.
https://nebraska.rivals.com/sign_up?promo_code=Holiday50

Did you get paid for this little promo? :D

$4 a month? That is actually a heck of a deal. Now if they would only add $99 worth of credit to spend in their shop with that 50% deal!

I wouldn't mind having the premium articles... sure gets annoying when I click on one to read it only to realize that I can't read it. (Oftentimes I don't see the little mark indicating it is a premium article)

@kaz36
Can a premium member copy and paste premium articles on the free board from time to time?

Not sure if something like that is technically against the rules and if there would be consequences...

I think the writers on rss tweet out things before it's even posted over there. Get twitter and read various husker sites. I used to subscribe but decided it wasn't worth paying for something I can get for free.

I recently signed up, I like it. As others have said the main benefit is getting to read the articles. The board is fine, just a different set of smart a$$es (I mean that as a compliment) than on the free board. Although the writers like Callahan, Clouse, etc. will answer questions and give their comments over there too.

I had a sub for a year. It was ok. I just never really liked hanging out there and I could wait that 5 minutes and get the info over here. I just like a place to hang out with other Husker fans. If you live outside of Nebraska you know what I am talking about. I don't need to pay people to be my friend.

You just put Nebraska fan in Wisconsin and HTO together. Love it.

You're really good at typing with your mouth full. Nice job.

I just signed up too and I’m enjoying it. I feel there’s a lot more to read and the inside info from Sean, mike and Nate is fun to read. Of course you get all the same info eventually but hey, this is the frost era! Need the info.

Was a member for many years and I don’t miss it. It isn’t worth it. 15 years ago, maybe. I used to have access to inside info during the Callahan days and “experts” over there were so fake. Just a few outsiders passing inaccurate information back and forth to each other.

I was a RSS member until twitter and other sites basically started getting the info out at the same time. Since people can't seem to stfu we get the info almost as fast. Smh...

I had press credentials throughout much of the 90s and agree on the "insider" information. Most of it was either gossip from high school kids or rumors that you see in Tweet's now.

Then one day I was banned. What seemed to have happened was this mod had got a former player to join as an insider and he was pretty rude to everyone, so some people were calling him out. So this mod went overboard and started banning everyone in the thread. I had merely posted in the thread, but nothing controversial and think it was just mistaken identity.

So, I offered up a deal. Show the post that got me banned and if other posters agreed I was out of line, I would pay for 1-yr subscriptions for 10 other people. Because he couldn't produce anything I think that just made him madder and this mod was adamant that I be banned and never gave a time limit.

Anyway, that was way back in the Callahan era and about a month ago was the first time I was able to post again. Don't know how long the ban went for as I don't know when I checked last, but I would say I was banned for at least 5 years, maybe 10.

I'm surprised that you weren't able to post when they changed over to the new board a couple years ago. I think pretty much everyone's bans were lifted because of the new system and the mods had to figure out who needed to be rebanned.

Huskerpowerhour would be a better choice. I know many here might laugh but that's on them if they don't like facts and only want to see things through the red glasses.

You mean the board that is run by the dude who was actively trying to get players to transfer and recruits to leave after his hero Bo was fired? Yeah, real objective.

This is awesome. A poster that loves Bo claiming that place is anything more than a few clowns praising a POS lying lawyer. All of them have no idea that when they praise Bo, even their God Osborne sees he was no good.
Awesome. They are so dumb that they cannot see their hypocrisy in almost every post. Nevermind the underlying overtones of homosexual things brought up in almost every post.
They even have pronounced Benning as an enemy of the program now. But I am sure that will change soon enough, and they will kneel before him again as well.

"Facts" lol. Like the "fact" that you clowns think you shut down access and threatened a Twitter account for posting the absolute trash that is posted there (a free board anyone can view)? Lol. You clowns still think people can't see the crap posted there. It is good entertainment, if you like fiction.

A whole website dedicated to fatasses praising a lawyer who likes to try and pass his wife around like a party favor. Oh and don't forget that they like to crap on the University, and people of Nebraska.

And yet you come here. Every time. Now back to the circle jerk and wanting to blow the lying lawyer. Interesting you refute nothing I said, but whatever. Keep living in fantasy land.
