Unless the coach is named Meyer or Saban, I don't know that I really expect NU to be a Top 10 annually type of recruiting school. Said it for Riley. Said it for Bo. Will say it again for Frost.

Probably especially for Frost. If he ends up taking more in-state kids (in addition to whatever he does with walk-ons but they don't count against recruiting rank)...he's probably not going to take 3-6 kids out of Nebraska high schools in a year and up in the Top 10.

Which doesn't bother me, personally. We're really counting on Scott/any NU coach to be fairly equally adept at development and recruiting, rather than really stellar at either one at the expense of the other.

Tennesee is still in the South, still has lots of local-ish talent, and is probably still more "exciting" to a 17 year old kid.

We never had the RB and we beat them for the WR and flipped their QB. I haven’t seen anything to indicate Woodyard flips for sure, it could happen but we could just as likely keep him.

And if it came down to it, we won the recruiting battle that mattered.

Javian Hawkins was the RB I thought we were after the Louisville commit that didn't make his visit this weekend.

What's crazy to me is the fact that Tennessee had such a bad year (0-8 in SEC, 4-8 overall), the firing of the head coach, and the horrible coaching search, along with a new head coach that has not formerly announced a single staff member (although at least one, DC Kevin Sherrer, has been recruiting for UT), yet they still have 28 commits (9 four*, 18 three*) and rank #15 overall. yet they are still having any luck recruiting kids at this point before the early signing period.

How?!?

I demand the NCAA investigate!;)

Well, whatever the reason, I'm glad we got Martinez from them. The most important commit for us in a long time.

28 commits? According to Rivals they have 11 commits. 5 4* players and 6 3* players and rank 60th, one spot above Nebraska.

Isn’t it so exciting for a black athlete to play for the “volunteers” of the confederate army?
volunteers refers to the Tennessee volunteers for the war for independence of Texas from Mexico. You remember Davy Crocket at the Alamo? He headed the Tennessee volunteers who were slaughtered at the Alamo, some 23 or so souls, who were all volunteers. Had nothing to do with the confederacy as far as I had ever known or heard.
