From an article written in May:

Kearney Catholic quarterback Matt Masker isn’t considered a dual-threat option by most college evaluators and that is just fine with him.

“Obviously I'm not going to be a triple-option quarterback," he said. "I want to go to a pro-style offense.”

Is he mobile?
A pass-first guy, for sure. Not dual threat. Not a slowpoke (Bernie Kosar), by any means. His arm and passing ability (and the team's lack of QB depth) meant that designed runs were few and far between. Too good at dropping back and getting big chunks through the air. Would scramble and allude rush until a WR broke free on many occasions. Thin at the OL for his senior season.

I have seen this kid play. I saw nothing negative about this kid except for the competition level. Quarterback skills-wise, he looked very impressive.

was his team in the class A finals? I can't remember what Kearney team was in the finals. all I remember was their RB was very good on offense & defense. wonder what he is going to do.

Kid can sling it and is mobile enough. It was reported that he threw the ball just as well as Duggan at Friday night lights

Big arm, and nice touch on the passes. Quality walk-on QB who undoubtedly turned down scholarship offers at other schools.

Impressive how many walk ons they are getting. It's a bigger financial sacrifice today than it was back when TO was coaching.
Right now there are 11 committed walk-ons. I think the difference between this year and the years past is the walk-ons are being announced now. Riley started announcing the preferred walk on this summer, so that was different that past years. Currently have 4 more preferred walk on offers.Currently have four more walk on offers. If all four commit, that would be 15 preferred walk on players which is really not that all different than past few years under Riley
