I thought I heard that he wouldn't talk to coach Cook before the match. Please correct if wrong. But if that was true, then coach Cook is literally in the guys head.

As for the officiating, they were calling us for a lot of double hits. I sure can't tell when something is double hit or not. How do the officials know?
It is the spin on the ball, and PSU got away with several IMO

In 1978, Russ Rose completed his master's degree at Nebraska, where he was the defensive coach for the Cornhusker women. While writing his thesis on volleyball statistics, he led the second team to a two-year varsity mark of 52-5.

Jeez guys, a little hard on a former Husker graduate and coach eh?

JK, that guy looks like a joy pole.

He treats Cook like crap, screw this clown.

So glad they won, and so glad my daughter bad B.B. practice. Not sure I could have handled watching it live. Checked here to see how it ended.
Totally get you… After seeing them lose the lead in the third set and then have a lead in the fourth that only to drop down to matchpoint Down, it’s almost too hard for me to watch.

They should have won in 4, but they rolled in the 5th. 4 or 5 (I lost count) of PSU’s 11 points were service errors.

Great news. Honestly, it makes me so nervous, I can't even watch volleyball games. Plus, I'm a terrible jinx. Have seen them against the Longhorns three times in Austin, and have yet to walk out with a win. So for their sake, I stay away.

Stanford clawing back from a 2-0 deficit to make it 2-1. This reminds me of the Bird/Johnson Celtics/Lakers playoff games. Florida had a lot of flash and athleticism, and Stanford has very tight fundamentals.

And a 6'9" really good ugly white guy that led their team.

I got to say after the emotional roller coaster I watched last night how impressed I am with Coach Cook and his entire team. I was screaming, my wife was like "calm down!". After they lost the 3 set, I thought they would just fold. It was hard to lose sets 2 and 3 so closely. Then they go down like 6-1 or something in set 4. I'm like "that's it, stick a fork in 'em, they are done". Then they go to set 5 and neither my wife or I realized it only goes to 15? We were saying "what does 4 match points mean?" in between "why does that one girl have on a different color top?".

Think I might go to a few games next year. Not sure I can handle this kind of game though. Very emotionally intense :p

I don't really understand volleyball rules, but after watching Florida, how many men are allowed per team?

Not that I would endorse such actions but the “Boston Celtics treatment” at their hotel at about 3 am on Saturday morning might be helpful.

That should have been for the NC. Definitely the best teams. Now let's beat Florida and revenge the loss

What can I say? Never had sisters or daughters and my wife is from England. We've never watched VB :p

I met my wife at Hastings College. She was on the volleyball team and is from Meeteetse, Wyoming.

She doesn't pay much attention to the Huskers volleyball team unless I am watching it.

We watched it on my phone at a meeting last night and got home and finished watching the 4th and 5th sets.

When the Huskers messed up, she would scream and yell at the girls and say, "Come on ladies!"

So I found it weird when we scored the final point to win that she sat there completely emotionless while I danced around the livingroom.

This morning I showed my twins what their mother did when the Huskers won (sat there emotionless). She my wife started dancing around in front of my girls and told them, "This is what dad did! He danced enough for both of us!"

I think I better plan a trip to Lincoln next year to take her to a vlleyball game since she just loves volleyball. Maybe that will get her to be more excited for the Huskers in the future...

What you describe when it comes to comebacks etc is having team leadership among the players. This team has it in spades with Kelly Hunter and Michaela Foeke. They even have it on the bench in one Allie Havers. Those three never let anyone get to far down. They do not let anyone give up. They are LEADERS. It is what almost every sport team needs.

This board is mostly about football. The Husker football team lacks any type of leadership. The closest thing to a leader this last football team had was on defense in Luke Gifford and look what happened when he was injured and no longer playing! On offense the leader is usually the QB, however that is not Tanner Lee except for by example. There needs to be an OLman step up and take that role also. Pretty sure from indications that was one of Cavanaugh's biggest downfalls is he really did not let anyone take that role. Decker was the closest and he went down to injury!

Leadership alone this past season wins us at least 3 more games and possibly four. I know for a fact that Frost is already aware of this problem and trying to take steps to remedy the problem. I think with the personnel he has that can happen!

I watched every point last night. After set 3 when we were down 2-1 I was thinking, " Hay a few point's and we're back in this". BOOM. Set 4 was awesome. When PSt blew match point. I thought. This is ours. I had almost quit biting my fingernails, which I have done for 50+ years. Well guess what. I have about 6 nails that don't look good today(remember, I lost 1 finger last year).
Gongrats to the lady HUSKERS. Bring it Saturday night.

Penn State never beat a team with Kelly Hunter on it, and look how it finished. Awesome job ladies.

Kelly Hunter showed why she is an all-american! She was able to set some poorly passed balls very well and her getting the final point, flat out, freaking awesome! Now, go win one more.

Yeah one year I went to watch the VB team play Colorado in Boulder, and it was the one and only match they lost the entire season. After that I figured I should stick to TV.
