Big time recruit. Frost is smart dont wait to get a qb to run your system in a couple years, do it year one. It would be great if Duggan (sp?) who recently got a tOSU offer was to commit to Nebraska in next years class. We need to stock that position as dual threat guys tend to get hurt at a slightly higher rate.

I think Martinez starts next year. Frost did it with Milton.

Didn't realize this kid was enrolling early. I would think he has a great chance to at least compete for the starting job next season. He will take his lumps, but look what McKenzie Milton did this year, his sophomore season, after starting as a freshman. He was pretty damn good. Gonna be a great player for Nebraska. CFB is better when Nebraska is a perennial top 25 team, if not top 15. Rooting for you guys to get back there

Better QB commit in 2 weeks than Pelini had in 7 years
Isn’t this our 7th QB savior. Lets not put the pressure on him just yet. See Lee, POB, Gab, etc etc etc.

Rivals rank - position, overall, 247 composite
AMart - 9, 167, .9383
Gebbia - 6, 122, .9217
POB - 7, 175, .9189

Guessing hawkeye is just going by the 247 composite score, which shows Adrian as a "better" commit...

Regardless, We will have talent in the spring and one of those boys better deliver!

 I thought it was Flea Spray since my older brother sang it that way when I was a kid...

@StrongArm517 please add commitment or something to title.

Yo Adrian!

My wife has a shoulder injury similar to AM’s. This is a very tricky injury and takes time. If you rush it you start over and may wind up needing pretty significant surgery. Don’t know how bad his was but it can take a year at least. Durability can be a continuing concern. Those tears don’t like to heal.

Was just informed he had the surgery. They reattach the tendon in a different location. Should durable but don’t know how it will affect function. Look up labrum tear. Pretty big deal.

"Clovis West QB Adrian Martinez, a top recruit, undergoes surgery for basketball injury

UPDATED APRIL 06, 2017 11:18 PM

Highly recruited Class of 2018 quarterback Adrian Martinez, hurt while playing basketball for Clovis West High, needs up to six months to recover from shoulder surgery."

Injured in winter and surgery in April?

"The quarterback is set to participate in the Under Armour All-America Game on Jan. 4 in Orlando."

Hopefully he is all good then because that is only about 8 months and I would guess he is already throwing the ball around a little bit...

He should represent but not play in that game, no reason. Excited to have him but all 3 QB's start even best man plays.

Can we stop anointing him the starter as a true freshman? I mean it would be the second time a freshman named Martinez unseated a senior transfer named Lee. Which would be kinda nuts. But Martinez is coming off missing his senior season and there are talented QBs on the roster right now.

No one really knows what will happen at this point. We can stop anointing Martinez as the starter and we can stop anointing Gebbia and POB as dual threat QB's. Two have a little experience, the other has absolutely none. I'd have to assume that a true freshman isn't going to win the day, could happen but is it likely? Probably not but we are in a more unique situation here.

None of these kids have experience in Frosts system so I think it's open to all three of those guys. I'd have to assume that AM's athletic ability and elusiveness to go a long way but again, he's a true freshman.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out..

He had a pretty renowned sports doctor do the surgery (operated on several famous pro athletes) and that doctor has cleared him to play in the Jan. 4 UA bowl game. His Dad claims the doctor said he should be stronger than before.

Does this mean we only take one?!?
I would bet we try to find a walk on dual threat too. It would be nice to have another freshman in the system for practice and competition. IF Lee leaves that leaves with only 3 scholarship QBs and one walk on. IF Lee stays we're probably okay.
