Hopefully good news for us. He didn't have an offer and was probably plan B for the staff.
Even if Wilson was a plan b guy, you would think they would have offered him to be safe. Two quarterbacks in this class would have been good. Have any other quarterbacks been offered?

Martinez is the QB is why. Wilson would have visited this weekend if they wanted him that bad.

Frost isn't afraid to play a true freshman QB.

We're going to have some growing pains as it is, if a true freshman is decided on at QB then it probably isn't going to make matters any worse..

My guess is they only want one QB this class because they are comfortable with POB and Gebbia running the offense, too. If not, they would have offered Wilson.
This. I think folks are being too quick to write these guys off. We have two very capable QB's on our roster who are good passers and have decent feet. If Berringer could run Osborne's offense, these guys can run Frost's.

Yeah there is no way I'd say he turned us down. I think he has more interest in Nebraska than Nebraska has in him, I could be wrong on that though.
That's the feeling I have had since the week before Frosty was hired

He may get an offer if Martinez turns us down but I think Frost has other options.

Do we have our first "we didn't want him anyway" thread of the Frost era? That didn't take long.
He doesn't have an offer. Meh. It's interesting to look at the news stories about Kentucky football. They have a BUNCH of guys transferring. Looks like Markie from Youngstown has a mess.

No one said that "we" didn't want him, did our coaching staff want him? People act like we just lost a commit yet the kid didn't even have an offer.

Even though we wanted him and offered him last year, we cooled on him :)

NU rolls with Geb POB, possibly Lee and hopefully AMart for the next year. And this to chew over:

Yes, we paid for him to fly to Lincoln precisely because we didn't want him so much.

I think he didn’t love the idea of being slow played by Nebraska. He had cancelled his Kentucky visit to visit Nebraska, before Frost asked him to push it back. It is what it is and I hope he is successful and Kentucky and I really hope we land Martinez.

Interesting.. Makes me wonder if the kid doesn't want to compete.

It’s hard to compete if you don’t have an offer.

It appears the writing was on the wall, and he was being slow played. So he took an offer, maybe while it was still there.

Now if he is offered in a week or so, and he doesn’t flip, then you can accuse him of not wanting to compete. That may or may not be true, but even if it were true, could you blame him? He’s already transferred once and his eligibility clock is clicking. He has to do what is best for him. And that at this point doesn’t appear to be going to a school that appears to have another younger target with more eligibility.

That’s exactly what I been saying the past week too. Just didn’t compare to Berringer like you did. But that’s a perfect example, dam near to the “T”. This is a good sign for us because Frost feels good about OBrein and Gebbia and feels he’s got a good shot at Martinez. Hopefully this means he knows he’s got him or something like that. So no big deal, twice now he went else where.

Don't count Lee out. He may live in the weight room this winter/spring, go to an elite running back camp this summer, and come back to compete for the job.

Dont frett
Scott Frost knows what he needs at QB
He also knows Wilson
We also know Wilson didnt have a committable offer- his JC HC was selling him hard this week and whining about having to delay Wilsons visit to NU one week
There was a reason Martinez visited this week and Wilson wasnt offered a chance to visit this week- Plan B or C
Frost knows what he needs- by now he knows what Gebbia and OBrien bring to the table and how he wants to manage his roster
He has a very good track record with QBs AND winning- so lets let him play it like he wants
Im guessing Martinez is his man- the HS HC there is all in on NU and feels Martinez would be perfect fit here.
I like Wilsons film- but HCSF knows a lot more about this than I do- and has much more intimate knowledge about this player than almost anyone
