Our DB situation is scary

It is scary, but I think the new staff is on it. I bet e get a couple HS DB's and a couple JUCO's.
Well we had some committed but they apparently wanted to play for a coach that goes 4-8 and not one that goes 12-0. I think we will be alright, Frost has offered a lot of DBs as of today.
Dennard and Stafford were Pelini recruits.
Callahan had Amukamara, Hagg, Asante, Jones, West, Thenarse, Murrillo, Bowman, Wilson & Blue amongst others. 5 of these guys made it to the NFL.
He just needed a DC. Callahan might be one of those coaches that missed greatness by one good coordinator hire.
Bookie. I am calling it.
Why not? The guy would be coming to a team where the new coach just won coach of the year and he'd be starting 30 mins into the first practice.
I do not know what to think of Bookie anymore. Part of me thinks he is just playing the game for Twitter followers but another part of me thinks he is genuinely intrigued by Frost to NU.....a mixed bag really
If he plays with the fire that I have witnessed when IMG was on TV you can name the kid a Captain besides a starter.
I think we still have a decent shot with Bookie. He is a lot more genuine of a recruit than some of our fans are giving him credit for. He saw the writing on the wall and had to explore other options. I still think he has a lot of respect for Nebraska football. I wouldn't be surprised to see us land him, but on the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised to see him land at OU.
Neither of them came for, or committed to, Callahan.
In your heart of hearts, do you really think this is true. Callahan made Nebraska relevant again.
Callahan could recruit period. Had he been left alone he would have won big at Nebraska. He would have stockpiled so much talent it would have been hard not to.
Plus I assume LJ will be going pro after next year.
I get that you are just probably trolling... but Stafford joined the team several years after Callahan was gone
Gomes was a heckuva player (way better than Stafford)... but I think he was a Bo guy too. I think he played 2009 and 2010.
Don't Forget Courtney Grixby! He was callahan's first commit i think. He was abused his whole career but was actually a good DB as a senior. He has the school record for most kickoff return yards in a season (giving up so many points in 2007 made for a lot of kickoffs).
Man, I still remember people on here losing their sh*t, and going off on how the secondary under Cos (well defense as a whole) had ZERO talent and coach Elmo even claiming the DB's "weren't tall enough".
Yet 5 of those too short talentless DB's made it to the league and I'd be willing to wager some money, that if some of the others actually had even the bare minimum of a competent coaching staff, they'd have made it to the pro's as well.
This is what always bothers me when the team does poorly, how many people begin questioning the talent, instead of the people in charge of coaching/developing the talent.
With what I have heard, I am fairly confident.
With that statement, people are going to need more lotion.
