Is this the type of defense Nebraska will be playing? Giving up 21 (or more) points in the first half to top 25 teams?
UCF had a Top 20 defense last year, so it’s not like he can’t field a good D. Just be happy to start winning again.

The UCF offense looks fun but most B1G teams play actual defense.
I have wondered how Oregon's good teams under Kelly would have done in the B1G. I think we are about to get some idea as this team is very similar. I'm excited about Frost but not convinced he can win without protecting the defense better. This is Big 12 ball.

Defense does not look good....but Memphis does have the #2 offense in the nation. There aren't many offenses like theirs in the Big Ten West.

Both coaches learned their style of fast, wide open offenses in the PAC. It worked great there. It works great in the AAC and it probably would work in the Big 12. The B1G? We'll see soon enough. We are seeing two defenses running out of gas -- in one half.

Chinander will be Scott's Cosgrove if he brings him here.
Any DC will have problems playing behind an offense that goes this fast. Oregon with Frost and ASU with Norvell as OC's did the same thing and scored a lot of points. But the teams also gave up tons of yardage. You have to protect your defense.

So when a receiver goes up and catches the ball 5 yards in-bounds, but the defense catches him and holds him in the air and runs out of bounds, isn't the catch still good?

I thought the rule states something like if the receiver would have came down in-bounds by himself, then it didn't matter that he landed out of bounds if that part was caused by the defender...

If this is your first lengthy exposure to UCF football and the coach wasn't from NU, would you be a little worried about hiring him?

Milton's receivers doing him no favors. 4 drops so far. Milton's throwing darts too.

I still think it's hard to have a solid defense playing that style of ball but I'll take it. DC will have to make some adjustments to the physicality of the B1G.

Not really, because if he wasn't from NU he would be hired by Florida or FSU, and we'd probably be stuck hiring Bielema.

Never!!!

Next year? Nope... cuz we wouldn't be after their coach ;)

Hiring him? eh, not really because he still has his team undefeated...

Lack of control and stupid penalty by the UCF defense. As we all know, that is all on the coaching

Not that I didn't believe you but I thought that was unbelievable given the offensive tempo, so I checked. They were 39th in total defense -- better than this year -- but 41st in points allowed, which is worse. Not that bad though considering they were surely exhausted.

No matter. If we play at this pace next year we will have about the same results on defense we had this year. Hopefully we can score 60 every game.
