i am here hoping that Scott frost is our next coach. But my question is how many years should he get before we are hearing this all over again. unhappy fans i personally think 4 years is enough time to take over a team and try to improve them what does the husker nation think ? i hope we get him and he does great.

What exactly do you mean by this statement? I expect "improvement" in year one.

You can't just put a number on it. I would have loved to have given Mike Riley more than 3 years IF the team was competitive but it was crystal clear that this team was going nowhere but to the bottom.

If there is steady improvement and we're at least back to competing then Frost will get plenty of time. I don't think most of us expect national championships in 3 years, but the product better be vastly improved from what we've just seen. I fully expect we'll have a pretty ugly year next year record wise, but we had better see some toughness and heart from these players that have so far been nothing but soft and weak.

Wasn't this just asked a few threads down. I will answer again :) For whatever reason some think Nebraska fans aren't patient. To the contrary, we have been very patient, 10-15 years patient. Very few expect a coach to come in here and get a national title is 3 or 4 years. Hell we game Bo 7 years of mediocrity. Riley would still be here if he showed improvement from year 1 to year 3. This team went backwards and backwards rapidly. Anybody with half a brain for football could see this team was weak and soft and just really didn't care. 10 more years would not have made a difference.
So to answer your question, yes I think fan will be tolerant of poor records the next 1-3 years. As long as the team shows growth and progress.

Foundation building:

1. Ethic = 4 years

2. Ethos = begins as ‘ Ethic’ effect begins to take hold.

After 7-10 years Ethos begins to drive Ethic

It is at this point that athletic spontaneous combustion begins ....And dynasties are built.

IMHO

This 1000% It's not a matter of how many years a Coach gets but most people know good football, talent levels, coaching, injuries, etc. when they see it. I think it will take 2-3 years to get to a place where we can tell if we are making improvements. We are so low in talent in so many areas this is a project. In 3-5 years we will hopefully be winning the West. Getting the right QB and coaching in is key. Frost is going to be really good just have to be patient.

Yep, If anyone is expecting more than 4 or 5 win next year they are dreaming and more than likely will be severely disappointed. Not saying we couldn't get more, just that 4 or 5 wins is more realistic.
