One poster nailed it on the head..

"don't think they regretted firing him, they regret their next hire" Spot on.

Also:

"Get out!! No way we hire this wacko. Damn!"

"Good gracious. Have our fans really lost their minds?"

"Pelini is a weirdo...Hard pass."

If you had said to me at the time (right before BP was canned), "The only way you can get rid of Bo is to accept Mike Riley as your coach for 3 years and go .500". I would have said "deal".

You got you're wish.

After looking at all the openings across the country, to include Tennessee, it really seems we are quietly handling the business end the way it should be. Some of the schools have a deeper problem then not having a coach.

Yes, he needed to control himself and TO was trying to work with him, but when you have a chancellor Perlman who hires an AD to fire the coach I am sure we would all do things due to the lack of the support. The downfall of Nebraska football can be set right in the lap of Perlman, Pederson, Callahan, and Eichorst.

But the 'lack of support' was for two years? Bo acted like an *** for his entire tenure.

As T.O. stated, Bo had to be managed, otherwise his paranoia got the better of him :p
That is a really sad. And people STILL blame anyone but him. And then they talk about accountability in their next breath when criticizing everyone else.

Never know......after finding out he was right about everything he said.
Nope. Stockholm Syndrome victim right here. Guy refused and of the extra stuff he was offered, so he could fool dolts like you that he had it so hard.
Keep up the good fight, for a lunatic with psychlogical issues, that hates you because you are a Nebraska fan. It's cute he still has weak-minded fools like you defending him.
Where are these job offers he was telling everyone he would get?

He really should be coaching in the pros and give up the charade that he cares about kids. His selfish actions speak volumes. He knows the game well, and I believe he is a good tactician. He could coach in the pros until he no longer wants to.
BS. Those kids absolutely believed he had their backs. Its internet poster posting all the crap.

Weak minded would be yourself. Most everything you are bringing up is over embellished to protect your 3 year belief that MR is great because he replaced Bo. You can't win the Riley part so you continue to kick down the Bo part.

Weren't you the one that said last week we shouldn't be kicking MR when he is down and just accept it didn't work out and leave him alone. And yet Bo is open season to you.

Well, the simple fact of the matter is Bo being right about SE (That SE is an *******) doesn't excuse the fact that Bo is also an *******.

With that said, Bo being an ******* doesn't bother me because he didn't do anything to me, he can snot on himself and pee his pants and scream and yell and hate the fans (By the way, all coaches hate and make fun of the fans) Just like SE didn't do anything to me so I don't really care that he is a creepy ******* that hides in his office all day.

When it comes to coaching, I just judge a coach on his coaching. Bo won enough to keep me medium-happy but not enough for me to care if he was fired or kept around. It will be the same with the next coach and the next coach and the next coach.

Riley seems like a great guy but he didn't win enough to keep me even medium-happy, so I am glad he is gone.

If I saw any of the 3 on the side of the road and they needed help I would all of them. I suspect they would do the same for me.

The guy encouraged players to leave the program. He was a loser and a cancer and I don't understand why you spend so much time trying to defend him three years later.
He did not encourage players to leave......that is internet embellishment. He told them to give the new coach a chance. He said the problems were with SE. Its no wonder everyone hates the guy when they make up things that he didn't actually do or say.

I really don't understand the problem P5 A.D.s would have with Bo. All you'd have to do is put one of these on him, assign someone with a remote to activate it when he crosses the line, and all would be good.

I do remember him saying to give the new guy a chance. I was shocked. He could have done both.

What if the shock collar idea would have been an option?
