Well this makes the coaching search with Frost more interesting since Florida missed out on Kelly.
I was surprised too I was expecting about double that. $9 million reciprocal buyout so when the NFL comes calling in 3 years UCLA will get a bunch of cash.
UCLA fans all thanking Jed York for canning Chip after a single season. The 49ers are paying Chip for like the next couple seasons so they're able to offset the initial couple of seasons of salary.
More like over/under on how soon UCLA will be in the playoffs under Kelly. It won't be long.
Best hire UCLA could make. I thought it was funny some people thought Kelly would go to Florida over UCLA.
My thoughts exactly. Bet there's hefty bonus benchmark. That's the way it should be.
They got a steal! If Kelly sets the bar on salary this offseason, you better not offer Frost anything under $5 million.

The guy has been a Head Coach at UCF, a mid-level DI school, for only two years and you think he should be paid top 5 money among all DI head coaches the day he arrives?
I wonder if that takes a big jump, after he is done getting paid by the 49ers?
It's no guarantee. Kelly is a great coach, but it's harder to win at UCLA than people think.
Anything under $5 million a year to start is low balling him?
