It really may be over. Nebraska has a population of what, 2 million? Times have changed and other schools caught up a long time ago.

Should have never been hired in the first place. Many knew is was bad right from the hire. All you needed to do is look at his history at just Oregon State. SE was such a fool and so were his bosses to let him make this hire.
Disagree. Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Michigan State are all programs that have the potential to win one. Just takes the right coach and a little bit of luck.
I personally don’t think so. It’s harder now than a couple years ago. Wisconsin will have to beat OSU, Alabama, and someone like Clemson to win a national title. OSU is the only team with enough horses to win two playoff games.
If it was 2010 where Iowa would have been undefeated if Stanzi didn’t get hurt, and Texas or Bama had a loss; maybe Iowa could sneak out a game. But I don’t think they could have won a Big Ten title game, and then beat Bama AND Texas. That was probably Iowa’s best team other than 2002. A team that got blasted by USC that year.
People say this about Michigan but their last title was the same year as ours.
Iowa has been close a couple of times. You guys just need to stop losing the games you’re supposed to win (Northwestern, Iowa State) and you’d be there. You lost the 2002 run when your best cornerback was kicked off the team, and then you ran into a buzzsaw against the hottest team in the country against USC.
Wait..why am I making a case for Iowa? Man, it really has been a long season (and the leftover pie from yesterday is already gone).

CFB will go to an 8 team playoff within the next several years. That will be led by a few more conference changes before it.
A good coach at Nebraska can get into that 8 team playoff.
You have to remember. This is an Iowa fan. Their last recognized national championship was never. Therefore, everything seems impossible.
I agree everyone wants to bash Husker fans saying quit living in the past. But nationally everyone props up Michigan. Makes no sense
Not sure I will see a MNC in my remaining lifetime - the landscape has changed enough the odds are against it. I sure hope I see some more titties before I get the pine box.
