Well, it's officially Black Friday and one way or another our football program is on the verge of the huge fork in the road. Win or lose today, there is an extremely high to quite very extremely high chance that Mike Riley and Nebraska will be parting ways, along with William Joseph Peter Francis Devaney***, Robert Diaco and the whole gang.

With all that being said, let's get a kick start on the correct side of the fork by whipping the tail feathers off some bird behind, and have Moos hit a home run hire.

Kicked Nebraska's *** in basketball yesterday, about to kick USF's *** in football today, then Memphis next week, then some weak P5 team on New Year's Day ..... Then the entire state of Nebraska again when Frost stays at UCF.

Yep .... it's gonna be a good next 40 days.

Lol out loud. You know that if Nebraska wants Frost we will take him and there is nothing that your University of Phoenix knockoff school will do about it.

I hold no ill will for any coach on this staff. They aren’t bad guys. We shouldn’t be celebrating. This is sad for all parties involved.
Definitely not trying to seem like I'm celebrating, but they will be getting severances for a good long time so I'm not too worried about them. I just want to kick the other team's butt today, see what happens and then get on with our program's next step.

I don’t revel in the coaches being fired. But I do take satisfaction that such poor coaching all around in being dealt with properly. These guys are very, very poor coaches. Game management, offense, defense, special teams, player motivation.....I’m not sure the recruiting was that savvy - a lot of hype but players like LJ make me question it.

I will not miss the poor offensive line play and denfensive line play and stupid end of game keystone cops. Just a lack of killer instinct all around.

He's 11-0 undefeated in your beloved AAC and the CFP has them ranked 15th...
In other words Scott has accomplished everything he can at that school and he will be moving on in a couple weeks at the latest. Best of luck in your upcoming coaching search.

You guys own scoreboard over us right now across the board. I wish Frost well on whatever this choice will be. Would love to see an ex-Husker do well as UCF is that is his choice.

I totally disagree that this is sad. The average fan is so delighted and has more hope for the future than they have for a long time. It is not the fans fault we have spiraled to this level. It is coaching. Are they nice people? Probably but there are a million nice people in the world and they are here to win games. I'm celebrating the opportunity for the next staff to do what this staff has miserably failed to do. Its not personnel.

You tend to trash the current coaches in the process. No reason to when they've been nothing but class.

Now if Riley acted like a jackass and called out fans, media, administration, etc then trashing Riley would be warranted.

I don't think he or any reasonable Husker fan who wants the program to get better wants to trash the staff. It may seem like it, but what I got out of his post was that people might be genuine and nice yet not good at their job. Riley is the one of the nicest coaches I have ever seen represent a University but he has been a coach for 40+ years. I tend to lean on the side of, why didn't he make changes to become great? There's no question in my mind that, if I were to meet him after his days at Nebraska, I would thank him for not leaving behind any ill will like our previous coach did. But with all of that said, I stand by a line I used previously—Business is just like sports. If you don't win, you're out.

This is sad. The coaches of a team I love —and assume you do too—have failed in a spectacular way. This has been the worst Husker season in 56 years or something like that.

We’re going to move on in the next 24 hours and that’s good, but but it’s damn unfortunate that we’ve gotten to a place where these changes are necessary.

This post is respectable.

I dont quite understand when you say, "I don't think he or any reasonable Husker fan who wants the program to get better wants to trash the staff." If you don't want to trash the staff than don't (like what you did in your post).

There’s nothing wrong with wishing the staff well in their futures. It should be a given. But unfortunately they did not win enough games here in 3 years to justify a 4th year. People need to start learning the difference between trashing the staff’s body of work and their ability to to their jobs sufficiently, and trashing who they are as individuals. Two completely different dichotomies.

Terms like "miserably failed" and now Pennsy's new thread fall under trash talking in my book.
