Generally you have to factor in the players too. Most of them are usually informed prior to it happening or almost the same time. It has been done by Text but usually there is a team meeting. Same thing on SF's end.

My prediction is that Riley tells the players before the game and announces at the post game press conference that he is stepping down. Moos comes up, gives him a hug, thanks him for his service, and announces that a nationwide search will begin immediately.

I could see this. There will still be financial terms that will need to be addressed. "Quitting"/Retiring and he is possibly leaving money on the table.
