Congrats to the Lady Huskers.

There was a lot of ignorant hate directed toward Amy Williams last year. People calling her a bad hire after a star player gets the old coach ran off, only to be dissatisfied with the new coach’s system and run off to Notre Dame.

Williams signed two good freshmen this year and has a top 25 class for next year. Things are looking up for that program.

Down 67-65 with about 5:50 left around when Ark took its first lead, the two freshmen kicked some butt and put up some points!

Something like 20 straight points by the freshmen in the 4th at one point. Crazy.

Things are definitely looking up at this point in the long season. Listening on the radio, it sounded like a tough game.

So much funner to listen to than the mens game tonight. :D

A lot of the hate was really more about Eichorst haters finding something else to blame him for. Now that he's gone, the people who pretended last year to care about the program and talk about how we shouldn't have run Connie Yori off and how bad of a replacement Amy Williams was can stop pretending and go back to not paying attention to the program again.

This. The criticism was never about Williams. How could it be? I mean reasonably? First year coach who inherited a **** load of baggage. This was always about Eichorst.

No there was a ton of questioning the hire too. CONNIE HAD TO GO. And Amy was the perfect fit and a huge improvement for NU. She will be at NU for a long long time and do things the right way. Another couple of weeks and we should be good to go in football now too.

It was wrong to criticize Williams last year after the mess she inherited. It's also a bit early to say she's going to be awesome here just because we barely beat a team that went 2-14 in the SEC last year. By the way, Shepard is killing it so far at Notre Dame (2 double-doubles). McGraw doesn't seem to be having trouble motivating her.

Don't think she is coaching.
She's got some issues she needs to work out before she even thinks of trying to coach again. I would be surprised that an AD that did his/her due diligence would hire her. Well I guess I could think of one type of AD that would but I won't go there.

Why didn't she have to sit out a year?

Shepard's issues were more about the backlash she got at NU than about motivation. She was still our best player by far last year but there was nothing left to help her. She needed a change of scenery and I'm happy for her. She didn't deserve the nasty crap thrown at her by some fans. Upward and onward.

From what I’ve heard around the girls AAU circuit, she was told how it was going to be if she wanted to play. Apparently that was ok coming from someone else.
