For years we have heard on this board that NU will never attract top candidates due to location or blah blah blah. Now there is a coaching candidate that if not the most at the top of the candidate pools for P5 schools this year multiple teams have interest and Florida is reported to be making a run at him. We have a chance for this guy and yes he is a Husker to boot, what is not to excited for this is probably our best shot at a top coach since Solich took over

As is has been discussed on multiple threads. Very few agree he is the be all save all. Are people excited of course, there is very little to be excited about these days when it comes to Neb football. Right now all things considered he is one of the better chances we have to get back to being great. For you to mock people and their excitment in childish. You don't want Frost fine, you want to go a different route fine. Be an adult and give your opinion on who you would rather have and why.

Regardless, people like you will never come to grips that whatever happens come late November-Dec that Frost may have been the best coaching candidate on the board.

On the highly likely change in coaching staffs, I don't know the truth of the particulars of past search for coaches. We've heard things that probably have different levels of accuracy. But the general theme is that attracting the interest of a "proven winner" has been difficult. And the fact of the matter is that outside of a few coaches that don't have an incentive to leave where they are (they are winning after all), proven winners are largely the conjecture of those who are pushing them. We may not see it this way, but NU might not be the destination type job for the coaches in this basket.
So of the coaches in the "up and coming" basket, Frost's head is popping up first with guys like Matt Campbell. Scott has a great resume both as a player and a coach. He played both QB and safety. He has coached LBs and has been a co-DC. He has coached WRs, QBs and was a OC at Oregon. Of course now he is a head coach and his team plays good football.
The rub on Frost was that if you took NU off of his resume, we would not be interested. I've never understood that, but knew that any time a coordinator takes a HC job there is a risk that he might not be up to the task. That risk has been removed. Certainly hope we offer and he accepts.

One doesn't need to be an expert to see very early on that this staff was going to fail. Also, one didn't need to be a "bloner" to predict how this was going to end. It sure did trigger quite a few folks though.

hmmm, sounds like someone was onto something. Stated he wanted us to go find the best possible Head Coach and it didn’t have to be Frost just because he was an ex-Husker having a successful year at UCF. He kept his word and now he’s 110% backing Frost and his staff up. I sure wish others would do the same thing and not jump ship the first sign of adversity or struggles.
