It’s all over social media. I don’t think he’s helping things even though he thinks he is. I understand he has the best intentions but he is poisonous to the team in my opinion.
You have to keep in mind - the 1997 championship team recently came back to see a completely unrecognizable, unorganized, gutless team and staff. I applaud him for saying what most don’t have the balls to say. I’m glad he hasn’t accepted less than mediocrity.
Nothing amusing about it. But it's all true.

Who's amused. A former Husker is calling it like he sees it. The Jet called it like he saw it in a different fashion. It's not amusing...it's sad that fans are relegated to spending our time talking about the spiral of the program.
Yeah, I listened to it. He thought his beard thing was funny, but his best points were how tough Frost was. I imagine they wanted to teach Scott a lesson for initially being a traitor...but he stood the test. Warren was good talking about what it used to be like when you made mistakes. It reminded me of some of the guys who were fearful that a walk-on was going to take their place. The practice field competition used to be brutal.
You would have to listen to it. The main point he made was that he thought Williams paid too much attention to how he looked on the practice field instead of how they played on Saturday only he didn't say it that nicely. That was a public forum I think for charity. JP's screaming and profanity was better suited for the Penguin's locker room. He's the kind of guy you want playing DT for you.....He was out of line.
He thought Donte needs to coach more and preen with the secondary less.
Made fun of him for his appearance. Only cares about how he looks, his socks and hat have to look just right, doesn't care how poor his unit plays.
Obviously, I'm paraphrasing and left out all the cursing, but you get the idea.
I have never been able to attend one of those things. I'm assuming at times there are women and kids present?
JP doesn’t like the swag aspect. The thing is, the kids today do whether we like it or not. One of the first things Frost did at CFU was contact Phil Knight to make flashy uniforms and “swag” for them. I wonder if JP knows that.
And people wonder which former Huskers were locked out of the football offices back during SP and BC's reign of terror? It wasn't all of them.....

For those of us there, it was a jarring experience to see in all its glory just how far we’ve fallen. Grant had more passion leading the pregame chant than I’ve seen on field in many years.
It was fun watching crouch hit the upper decks with the tshirt gun though.
What's with people being proud of people having zero filter? From government to everyday life, self restraint is a far better look than flipping out all the time. I get the thought that people think things need to be said, but this isn't leadership. It is only divisive.
I agree. Some will see it as raw emotion and love for the program, and others will see
No self restraint. I’m trying to find ways where these kinds of rants are good for the program, but I’m having difficulties.

Good grief. He is ticked off. A lot of us are ticked off. I mean, what kind of evil former players do we have that are passionate about a program they happen to love? You know, that actually give a sh-- about the product they are seeing on the field?
Good thing we have such a NICE program now though. Heaven forbid we would ever recruit such meanies in the future! What would we do with a team full of mean players like him?

As misdirected and inappropriate as this message is, the fact remains, CFB is a game of passion played by kids developing into manhood.
When was the last time we had goosebumps over a team effort? Oregon last year? Led by, what I consider, a Tradition Coalition type player in Tommy Armstrong.
The guys on this team and staff do a good job going through the motions. I suspect they want to succeed. But to say they get a full effort out of these kids, while developing the players in the off-season, to get amped and put it all out on the field, well....color me skeptical of that.
I think that is JP's bigger point, and it resonates, and anyone who can't admit that is a Tradition Coalition hater who for whatever reason hates anything related to our past which was all about kicking the other team's *** on the field.

I said a few weeks ago that I think JP is an ***. I caught some polite flak for that stance. And I can understand why many frustrated fans are heartened by his outspoken criticism of the current state of our program. I share his deep disgust for the fall of our once great program.
But... I stand by my original assessment. The guy has become a gas bag. It is totally irrelevant what a coach wears at practice. So he likes to look spiffy? So what? What does that have to do with his coaching ability? Would you rather have ol' piss pants back? Criticize him for the product he has put on the field. Leave his manner of dress out of it. Because it actually robs JP's argument of credibility since he just comes across as having a personal animus against the coach, rather than a reasoned argument. Give me X's and O's and a clear analysis JP, not nonsense.
Bear Bryant always wore a tweed jacket and hat. Vince Lombardi often coached in a suit and tie, as did Hank Stram and Tom Landry (who also had his trademark fedora). Were these guys bad coaches?

Jason has done more for the Huskers than anyone on this board. He has given his body, time, energy, heart, and passion to a program he believes in. If anyone on this board has given so much of themselves as Jason has you would be as passionate as he is.
I love his passion and if more coaches and players had his attitude we wouldn't be in this sad state of affairs!

I don't see ANY other former players acting like this. There was no need for him to attack Coach Williams on a personal level, like that. You really think a lot of players and fans have a problem with how he dresses and think that he must somehow chose between coaching well or wearing a hat a certain way? That's just absurd. Nothing wrong with calling out poor performance, etc. But what JP did was just "look at me theatrics".
