I still remember Trev Alberts begging Nebraska to hire Kirk Ferentz during the halftime show of the 2004 Outback Bowl while he was at ESPN.

You would have a team that never quits, plays hard nose defense and would rather control the line of scrimmage on offense and run the ball. All the time putting big *** linemen into the NFL on a regular basis.

And hardly any hardware too show for it.

Unless you count BCS bowl trophies, rivalry trophies, etc you would be partly correct. To say none would be fake news.

Let's not go backwards with another outdated pro-style hire. We need to get to the Cloud, SaaS, not a Pentium 2 processor. GBR

"Hardly any"

Winning trophy games against ISU, Minnesota and Nebraska and losing ( even though Iowa hasn't) every game with 3-8 record isn't the kind of hardware I'm talking about...

That's what a lot of the "insiders" feel the plan is. Which, I agree. Once Kirk is done, be done with the Ferentz style of football. Unless of course Brian gets a lot better as an OC.

Badass OLinemen and tough defenses that play well beyond their athleticism. What's not to like about that. I would take Iowa's approach tomorrow if given the opportunity.

I wish we would have hired Captain Kirk as long as Chris Doyle came with as part of the deal. We have not had a strength coach as good as Doyle since Boyd Epley gave up direct control of football.

You missed the 12-0 undefeated regular season but by all means stick with your 20 year plan on finding the next T.O.

Same divisional title we won in 2012 except we won the Legends, so since joining the B1G we each have a divisional trophy... ohhhh but wait we have two bowl trophy's how many does Iowa have in their trophy case since Nebraska joined the B1G?
