Do not understand the criticism of this hire. By all accounts it looks like a home run hire by NU. The only reason I can think of to object to this is if you are one of those fans who thinks our AD should be somehow connected to Nebraska, e.g. Ed Stewart or Trev Alberts.

I agree, I love the hire so far - though Pederson seemed like a home-run hire at the time too.

Moos' legacy here will be determined by whether the coach he hires succeeds or fails. That's really the only job he has here. We are already good in terms of finances and facilities. We just need better coaching.

Agree I think he is going to do well here. But there are always people who would want a nebraska guy and then there are some liked Eichorst

What better job could a person want? Get paid a million bucks and you only have to keep the fans happy by making a good hire for the football team. What's he work, like an hour a day then?

"The single most important quality of an AD is to have an honest person that’s got your back, creates a vision and an identity of the athletic department. Bill is all that and more."

Winner winner chicken dinner.

And Pederson was a Nebraska born and raised guy and a Husker person.

Nebraska is not the only place with great people. I don't care one way or the other whether or not Bill Moos is from Nebraska... all that matters is that he does a great job in the position he was hired to do.

He may not no all of the Nebraska traditions but that doesn't make him a poor choice for AD.

It does make you feel good that the coaches that worked under Moos praised him. Glad to see Leach's comments.

I'm just saying he won't have to deal with the budget and facility issues he had to at Washington State. So he will ultimately be judged mostly on the success of the football program - in fact, all of his incentives are tied to how well the football team does.

the age thing is the biggest issue...was hoping that the choice would have been younger

There was an immediate reaction of "Moos who"?, and general sniping from the permanent peanut gallery. That has died down as his bio has communicated. The hiring process seems to have been decent as well.

That’s from yougotswatted!, who made famous the #scottfrostnotgoodenough now claiming that #billmoosnotgoodenough.

Makes me laugh.
That's it! Couldn't remember the poster.
But I should have also made it clearer that I have been hearing criticism from people not on this board. Family and friends back in Nebraska who are upset we didn't hire a "Nebraska guy" like Ed Stewart.

Well, it's ironic since this board melted down when Riley was hired. His age was as big of a complaint as his record.

Reading the follow-up responses, looks like one poster.
Yes, one poster on here. Which is I said I should have been clearer that I am hearing gripes from people not on this board. One guy I know who lives in Omaha texted me and said "oh great, instead of hiring someone with Nebraska ties who understands us, they hired some PAC 12 flunky". Geez. Such ignorance.
But the thrust of what you are getting at is correct I think. Overall, the response to his hire has been positive.
