We kept it tight, didn't allow the big play. Made them earn the 56 points. Hip hip - hooray!!

I couldn't watch the game but, if your offense is 3 and out on consecutive pass attempts that eats no time off the clock and puts the D right back on the field hard not to give points. I tried to allude to it last night with only 13 rush attempts for the entire game. The offense is just as much to blame. RUN the $#%^&*^ rock!!! This entire team is a train wreck. It starts in the trenches and works its way out. If you can't or wont run the ball to control the clock and the game, this wil occur on a regular basis.

Spot on here! Our Offense did our Defense no favors in the first half. Our D was gassed!

You need to watch it. We were not going to magically get 1st downs running it. No matter how many times you say it, it is just wrong.

Their D-line is rock solid. No way were we going to generate push up front.

Didn't give up the big play? Riley must have been in a coma when Dobbins sprinted for a 52 yard TD!
We gave up plenty of big plays...I kept on seeing 1st & 10 red arrows all night long. So yeah, maybe we only gave up small plays.

2 runs and 1 pass will eat more clock than 3 incomplete passes... 45 secs between snaps... multiply that by 3 series and that's less time on the field. Wisconson had the ball 13 mins more than NU 2 weeks ago (1 effin qtr, mainly the 4th ) and tOSU had more than 11 mins last night. Common sense tells you to shorten game by running even if you don't gain yards. 3rd and 10 with 2 runs is better than 3rd and 10 with 2 incomplete passes.

I guess I don't see the point in just not trying. Why even field a team? I understand you're scared of the competition. I want to at least fight to compete, personally.
Simply burning clock was not gonna help last night.

Anyway, 1st series rush, incomplete pass, completed pass. 2nd series, rush, rush, incomplete pass. 3rd series we got our first first down. 4th series rush, rush (scramble), rush. 5th series we got our 2nd first down. 6th series we got two first downs. So, our actual running out the clock was better in the first half than your rush, rush, incomplete pass scenario.
