The teacher's name is Erin Sayar, and she has to pay the $750,000 judgment. The school was sued but that was dismissed. I would have gladly been scarred at 16 1/3 that amount.

I honestly didn't know that. In that case, unless she won some sort of lottery, the kid will never see anywhere near that amount and will just have to settle for being a lucky bastard.
Seriously though, why is this happening so much? It seems every week theres a new one...just a few weeks ago there was a 52 year old female teacher and a junior higher. I bet ive seen at least ten stories on this the past year. Why?

Probably because by the time many of us reach early adulthood (25-30) the mystery and awe of the opposite sex is over and we are more interested in net worth, criminal past (if any), frequency of use of substances, political bent, religious bent, stuff like that. Most of us are willing to put up with the scrutiny in the interest of finding a good match. However, I suspect these teachers get off on a guy who is in awe and mystified by them with no strings attached, even if it means robbing the cradle.
I mean look at how most of these teachers are caught - texts/snapchat/other social media. 100% guaranteed this happened way more often in the past, there just wasn't such easy ways to catch it.
$750k is a nice number...but nowhere near "set for life"...particularly at 16 years old.
16 is age of consent in a lot of states. I dunno about you boys but I'd sure as hell have consented for her at 16.
To get serious for a moment... yes, she is attractive and as a 16 year old I would have had the hots for her.
But what I dislike is the double standard. A male teacher who has sex with a 16 year old female student is roundly condemned by almost everyone as a pervert "preying" on young girls who are impressionable and have a crush on their teacher. But young 16 year old boys are kind of viewed as "lucky" for having "scored" with a hot babe teacher. The presumption then is that 16 year old boys are not impressionable and immature kids who are being preyed upon by a pervert teacher, but sexually mature adults who had a consensual relation with another adult. So the only "ick" factor is that it is a student/teacher relation.
In my opinion, this female teacher, though attractive, is a troubled piece of crap who should be fired and prosecuted (assuming she broke some laws). As a former college teacher myself I think the student/teacher divide is a line that should never be crossed ... sexually. Many college profs do have sex with their students, but it never ends well, even though it is all very legal and the kids are adults. How much worse it is then for a high school teacher to be having sex with 16 year old kids

Yes, there is a double standard (and it isn't limited to just this scenario), and I'm perfectly fine with it. Tired of people trying to convince me we're all 100% equal, we're not, and it's OK.
I agree actually about there being differences between men and women. But put yourself in the shoes of a male teacher who gets five years in the slammer, when a female who does the same gets off much easier. We might have differences between men and women that allow us to react differently to these situations, but in the eyes of the law all should be equal.
I find it impossible to put myself in the position you describe, because I'd never sleep with an underage girl or a student, no matter how hawt, and for those that do, their idiots.

Yeah, if his family is in the top 10% of net worth individuals , then they would likely employ that strategy. The fact that they are "victims" and suing for money pretty much tells me they ain't got sh*t and won't have sh*t afterwards. Money not earned will flow through your fingers faster than a handful of sand.

This really is an interesting topic and I would suspect that somebody somewhere will do a doctoral thesis on it. Now if one of my boys would have been seduced by a lovely 20 something female teacher I would have probably said attaboy. Change it to ****** tattooed teacher and I would have probably asked them what they hell they were thinking...all along knowing exactly what they were thinking. Now turn that around IF it were my daughter I would have had my .45 and my scalpel blades out so the guy had no choice but to take what he had coming no matter how cute he was.
