So, if it's a tribute to '97, why aren't the numbers on the sleeve?

Those are fresh! Love the all white pants and the black adidas logo on the pants. Those gloves are awesome too. Hopefully we wear these for Wisky.m

I like them! I actually have liked roughly 50% of what Adidas has done for alternate uniforms for us (I loved the black and white ones, and I thought last years versus Northwestern were pretty sweet). These, though, are really classy; they're not wildly different from our new uniforms, and are a neat throwback to a time when we used to own everyone's ***.

A few programs have done this (I remember Michigan a few years ago wore their 70's uniforms that made them look like bees), including us back in what, 2010, when we wore 60's throwback uniforms. I think its awesome and hopefully, it'll bring good luck against the HATED BADGERS.

This is excellent!!
These should be our normal uniforms. They look more like our traditinal school unis than our current unis do.
Actually, are the regular uniforms changing this season at all? Seems like some years there are minor tweaks.
Anyway, great looking alternates that should be the regular!!

As an alternative, they should try beating a decent opponent like the 1997 squad.
On the contrary, Josh Mitchell does not like them simply because they honor 97. Wonder if they will celebrate the 9 win trophies of Josh's teams in 20 years?

Those are bad ***, I'm not sure why but my favorite is still those black ones with red numbers. To me it looked as if the whole team was supporting black shirts the whole game! ;)

I really like the combination of red jerseys, white pants (with or without stripes), and black socks/shoes. To me that's a really great way to flash the colors, and it's also a good throwback to the 90's squads.

When i think alternate unforms, i want to see something different vs a retro look. Would love to see something with black vs the same old Red and White (scarlet and cream).

I kinda like them - it's scary that 1997 is now considered throwback material. Yikes.

It's inevitable. Sooner or later your glory years will be considered old, just as you once considered others glory years old. Can't believe it's been twenty years.

Truth be told Nebraska didn't wear stripes on their pants when the Devaney era began in 1962,by 1966 they went to one Red strip till 1969 when they went to striped pants.

Always like the stripes because it reminded me of the 1970-1971 National title years..

At least we agree 110% on the all white crap.;)

See! That's before my time. I had a bulletin board in my bedroom as a kid celebrating the two championships. I was just a tad too young to be a part of it. I kind of felt relief in 1994 when i finally had a championship to call my own.

I understand, I just so happen to have seen a lot more Nebraska History then yourself.

Hell I don't remember the 1959 Oklahoma game with Bill Jennings and Red helmets but I would love to see us wearing red metallic helmets of some kind for a alternate uniform game.

I embrace all of the history. I just understand that what we all used to remember as recent history does age to the point that it's no longer recent (or relatable) to the younger generation. I'll never forget Black 41 Flash Reverse. I can't expect an 18 year old today to feel the same. Just as Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers punt return was just before my awareness of football's existence. I hope to live long enough to witness many more Husker great moments.

These would be my preferred throw backs with the shoulder piping.
