As bad as his passing was in 2016 - he had no shot to be drafted at QB - so completely makes sense to come back for another year. He needs to show alot more accuracy and command of the offense if he wants a shot in the NFL. Of course - WR is also an option after 2017.

It's kind of amazing what different OC's will do to a guy. Barrett put up video game numbers before being hurt his freshman year if I'm remembering correct. I suppose losing a handful of your WRs every year doesn't help.

Exactly. I couldn't believe he passed up that opportunity.
Well, he probably thought at the time, like we all did, that his future trajectory at Ohio State was just up and up with no limit in sight. People were predicting that he would be the greatest OSU QB of all time, and so on. So he probably thought if he stayed he was going to be a first round choice someday worth tens of millions

Well I can honestly say I thought he was never going to be a first rounder. But I thought maybe he could work himself into the second round, and had he come out 2 years ago somebody would have taken him in the third, so in reality he was only going to improve his stock by one round, maybe, and because he would have been so young he would have lived out his first contract. Probably won't happen now, so what did he have to gain trying to improve his stock by one drafting round and coming back? Not much as it turns out.

Buckeye fan here. He is at best a late round pick. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes undrafted. He is listed at 6'-2" in the program but he is really a shade over 6 feet. I would say he has a slightly better than average arm but his downfield accuracy was really off this year. He must have had 20-25 passes batted down at the line of scrimmage this year. He is better suited to play in the CFL.

Exactly. This is just self serving BS. The dude is nowhere near NFL ready.
Agreed. I'll go a step further and say that he's not even an NFL prospect. The kid is dreaming if he thinks he's even on the NFL radar right now.

The NFL so reactionary. I'm pretty sure if he left two years ago, be would've been a 3rdnd or 4th rounder and have a couple million bucks right now.

I don't know. I was wrong (but later proven right) when I said that Tebow was no NFL QB and somehow he got drafted very high, but of course wasn't really good enough to stay on a roster. I think Barnett is a poor man's Tebow.
