Minnesota has a decent team and you have to wonder about the team's psyche after a game like that. Plus, if Tommy doesn't play...

Frankly I was expecting losses at UW and at OSU (like the bookies were). But can we right the ship and keep the season alive? Minnesota and Iowa are not gimmes.

Of course Minnesota is not a gimmie. No game should ever be seen as a gimmie. That doesn't mean we should be overly scared of them either. Have you watched them this year? I've probably watched them more than any other team this year except us, and I've not been impressed. People love to bag on our schedule and how we haven't beaten anybody. Have you checked theirs recently? Their best win was either over 5-4 Colorado State or 5-4 Maryland. Their other wins were over 2-7 Oregon State, 4-6 Indiana State(FCS), 2-7 Rutgers and Illinois and Purdue which we've beaten too. And that win over Rutgers came on a last second FG. If the situation was reversed and we had that resume and were going on the road to play a 7-2 team, nobody would give us a chance.

About the team's psyche-do you think the team's psyche was any better last year coming back from a loss at Purdue? Certainly didn't keep them from beating a Michigan State team that is much better than this Minnesota team is.

Iowa will probably be a gimme. We will lose to Michigan the same score you guys lost to OSU. Then will be in a battle to get bowl eligible against Illinois. This team has given up big time and is not good. You guys will beat Iowa.

If Tommy plays and the team doesn't feel sorry about them selves we will beat Minnesota, but it will be a tough game to win if Ryker Fife is our Starting QB..

I posted it before Wisconsin and again after Wisconsin. We will be lucky to go .500 the rest of the way. With all the O line injuries and the weak DE play, this is a very average team TALENT WISE. I LOVE the attitude, work ethic and character of this team. I'm afraid especially after TA's injury that they threw in the towel last night but I hardly blame them. Nothing went right and then when you see such a scary injury, it's pretty damned tough to stay focused. The margin of error in college football for most teams right now is very thin with all the parity in the non-playoff teams. Even the playoff contenders can stumble against lesser foes if they lose focus. There never were ANY gimmes on this schedule with the lack of depth of talent that we have. I've tried to remind people of that all year. We HAVE to recruit more quality depth.

If TA plays: MN by 10-14 points.

If Fyfe plays: MN gets the shutout and wins by 30+.

Don't worry about the gophers! Iowa beat them, and that's saying something.. living in Minnesota with these miserable rodent fans, this is the one week I'm a Husker fan!

Ferentz needs to fire Greg Davis...
Phil Parker needs to go...Pathetic D coordinator. You think Nebraska has problems... We have injuries, two pathetic coords and a team that has seemed to quit on their coach. I think if TA is gone for the season or gets one more cussed, it might be a toss up in Iowa City. We have really regressed from last season... Not even a toss up, You have more talent with or with out TA... Nebraska should roll with offensive weapons you have imo!

Yes, the book is out on the Husker alright. Just get all of their starting OLinemen injured so they are starting a bunch of walkons. Try again.

I have to ask...what IS up with Iowa???? Never saw this coming...

Stubbornness cost them the NDSU game...team never recovered after that...and the players quit last night. This is a year older team that went 12-0 a year ago, so in theory they are bigger, faster, stronger....they are just very disinterested in playing football. And, our coaching has been bad......nothing going right in Iowa city. I honestly expect you guys to roll us by four scores....

I'm a PSU guy...we lost our starting LT for the season 3 games ago, and our starting RT early last night.. and piled up 600 yards on Iowa. Your main problem is your D is VERY soft, you guys lose contain an can't pressure from your base D. Mike Riley is a great guy known for fun offense and softer defense. We have less depth than Nebraska, but probably far better talent in a few spots (RB, QB, DE, LB, Corner). If you beat Minny I'll be impressed, they are a solid team that that is less diverse than Iowa on O. You guys would probably challenge for the Big 12, but this is totally diff conference.. the refs don't call holding to it puts D's at a big disadvantage..

Refs don't call holding---agree, and wondering why a conference is allowed to make their own rules. Maybe we shouldn't shoot free throws in big ten basketball games???????

decade.. on one play vs. PSU when Barrett broke 3 tackles on a 3rd n long a guy posted on twitter a pic of their OT with his arm around our LDE's neck.. so.. you gotta adapt.. you gotta be physical and nasty.. that is not a trademark of Mike Riley teams.

This conf will also treat you like a red-headed stepchild (even worse your colors are red LOL) so you will have to be even better to claw to the top. There are only 2 conf that play hard-nosed football, and you are in one of them. That BIG 12 did you a disservice.-sg
