A few comments. Abuse, mental or physical in a relationship is a horrible thing, especially when one is more physical than the other. While no one will publicly defend porn, I think there are literally hundreds of millions that view it that haven't killed relationships. I think it's easy to blame porn, but there is something else going on in his head that leads HIM to be abusive.

Lastly, while very hard to defend Brown, it does seem as though he was repenting and at least owned up to his failures, even calling himself disgusting (or some comparable word). His NFL career is likely over. He is likely hitting rock bottom and that is probably good for him.

These notes were from sessions that he was going to order to get help from.what i have seen elsewhere. Shows he was making an effort, but he has a very long road to get back to being a person that many will have any respect for.

I hope he gets his life togrther but what he did, he has a lot of repentance to do. He should legal action if allowed by the law at this point

Really? Maybe relationships that are not developed on a solid foundation or if the people watching are prone to addiction or something. Your blanket statement, though, is crazy.

Wow. This thread is going to be hard on Husker fans. Completely 100% indefensible stuff here yet fans defend ex-huskers to the their death. Quite the conundrum...

Abuse is abuse. Under no situation should it be tolerated. I will never cheer for this guy ever again, and I sure hope we disassociate with him in every way possible.

Had he not been in a "safe environment" to write these journals, this would not have come to light. I thought there was a law that protected Dr patient privilege? I have not followed this story closely so do not know how these transcripts got into the authorities hands, but these were supposed to be personal journal entries.

In the prison ministry I do, in order for one to start the "healing" process you need to accept your role in your actions. You then need to forgive those that have hurt you and most importantly forgive yourself. This is the most important part of the healing process. Any progress that my have been made is now backwards at least 20 steps from the stepping off point. It will be interesting to see if trust can ever be trusted again, and if he will ever be able to progress from this point forward.

It's easy to throw stones from a distance and have knee jerk reactions to stories. I pray that he continues his therapy and tries to deal with the demons in his head, they are not pretty. It will be a long road for healing.

Seriously though, been wondering why no thread/threads on former Husker. Not a good look on all levels. This story has been going for a few months.

The title of the thread is perfect.

Husker or not, his actions are deplorable. Sounds like he continued with them throughout is marriage and into his divorce.

He needs to be accountable but his wife did him dirty on turning in his personal journal information.

In the face of Brown’s criticism, NFL Vice President of Communications Brian McCarthy told NJ Advanced Media the league stands by their decision to suspend the kicker.


“It was a comprehensive investigation with multiple interviews, analyzing a tremendous amount of documents,” McCarthy said. “Also, the player appealed. … Every incident is different. We work as quickly as we can, but we want to get it right. Sometimes, to do that, it takes time.”





This was announced a few months ago back in August.

Sounds to me like the last altercation was very recent. Good for Molly in bringing all this to light, and exposing the NFL's faux-concern on domestic violence.
Also, read the article someone else linked to, showing abuse while he was at UNL.
Sounds like he's been doing this for a long time in multiple relationships.
