I see he is taking a 3rd visit? Is it to Arizona? I don't have the rights to read the article so I was just curious.... Don't like our chances now that he is still looking around. We really need a BIG to come in with this class that can contribute in some way! Morrow and Jacobson are good players but not 5's...

Agreed. The longer he looks around, the less likely I think it is that he lands in Nebraska. Damn shame.

The fact that he is visiting Okie St this weekend and making a decision Monday seems to bode well for the Cowboys.

However, Jerry Meyer gave his crystal ball prediction today for us. And a Duke writer also predicted for us yesterday. Hopefully they know something.

We need some good news regarding the hoops program!

He seems like a strange fit for the way the new Okie St coach does things...I think he ends up at NU

Well, Palmer was very good news. But you are right, given the team's needs Jordy would be even better news.

Should have specified, good news for next year (since Palmer has to sit out).

I have no idea what is in AW3's mind, but I think the chances of him coming back and not taking advantage of the graduate transfer rule would be better if he knew there'd be a legit sized athletic 5 on the roster.

I think White actually has NBA skills. He really has elite shooting skills and when you look at the top performing teams in the NBA today, they rely heavily on sharp shooting. That said, I don't think he has a spot on an NBA team yet. In my opinion, he needs to have a team be "his" and he needs to be the go-go player for the NBA to have confidence in his ability to take over. Look at Doug McDermott. This guy was clearly the leader of the team for a couple seasons and was a known sharp shooter. He was drafted in the first round and while he's played some minutes for the Bulls, even he hasn't made a splash in the NBA yet.

I think White needs to be better off the dribble and needs to be better at taking fouls while driving the paint. Selfishly, I hope he picks up those skills in his senior season at Nebraska.

Good point that I missed. Shooting guard is definitely not a huge need next year, even if AWIII doesn't come back and with Palmer sitting out. OTOH, a big body is desperately needed.

He is no longer going to Okie State. Going to visit UNLV instead.

I think AW3 will be back. He's probably not getting drafted this year, and I think he knows this since he didn't hire an agent. Right now he's working out with NBA teams (Golden State, Toronto, among others) and being evaluated by guys who know what it takes to play in the NBA. IMO, this offseason for AW3 is about figuring out which areas of his game he should work on so he can be drafted in 2017. Keep in mind, he's networking with some of the NBA's hottest franchises right now.

I think that Tshimanga is trying to get a package deal for his brother, who is a 7'1 Juco who Nebraska looked at a couple years ago. Not sure if they offered him or not, but his stats werent too impressive at his juco.

I hope so, but it just scares me that he choses to transfer to another school since he is going to graduate IIRC.

If his brother can come here and play some D and get 8-10 boards a game it sure wouldn't hurt.

Willing to have both of them come to the Platte Nebraska. If the brother is a Juco if he ends up being a bust, it won't be a four-year it'll be just a two-year and his brother will be here hopefully playing well and putting up some big minutes. Getting too big men as well as not a bad thing. We need size if the team wants to compete in the Big Ten Conference.

Agree completely. Weve seen big bodies come in and contribute very little. We shouldn't think this guy is an instant 10/10 guy. But considering the alternative, a 7 footer with size is going to help.

I worry the expectations for Jordy are way too high.

Who has expectations that are too high? He's rated a 3 star recruit (same as Hammond IIRC), it's mid May of his senior year, and he is still available. That should say something.

He's a legit big body and he's athletic. Those are my expectations IF we get him. IF we get him, I just hope as a freshman he can play D, rebound, and not foul out repeatedly. Any points he gets would be a bonus.

I haven't seen any posts that set lofty expectations on him that I remember. I'll agree that IF we get him, IF anyone expects him to be a 20/10 guy from the get go should rethink that.

NU has made it clear that they won't accept Jordy and Link as a package deal. Last I checked, which was a few days ago, Link's only offer was Montana State. I am hearing good things about Jordy committing to NU on Monday from a source that, while not 100%, has a very good track record in what he's told me over the last 4 years. So take that as a FWIW.

The brother thing is a tough nut. When you start dealing with that all bets are off. Once I heard that I figured that UNLV with all 8 of their open scholarships is going to be tough to beat.

We have an extra scholarship, might as well take the brother too if that would seal the deal. What do we really have to lose? Even if he's not the great, it would only be for 2 years, and at the very least he'd be a big body for the practice team.

We aren't taking Jordy's brother, and neither is UNLV. They aren't a package deal. His brother isn't even visiting UNLV with him this weekend, he's visiting UIC.

Oh really? Sharp yesterday made it sound like UNLV had offered his brother in order to secure Jordy's signature.

Really nice get for Miles. While I don't expect Jordy contribute much more than say 4-5 points and 5-6 rebounds a game, his presence inside defensively will be huge, and if the coaches can develop him, he could be a nice player by the time he's a junior.

I'd take that with a few more boards. If he can just be a threat offensively that the opposing teams have to respect, it could open up space to the outside.
