Broncos beat NE with their second team qb. If they play at least that good next week, they can win. Broncos have to trade fg's for td's this time around, not like today against Pittsburgh.Healthy Pittsburgh wins this game
Kansas City wins this game
Unless a different Broncos team shows up next week, New England kicks their derrieres.
Winning a division has its advantages. That's why you can't start the season 1-5, or let this happen:Kansas City wins this game
.
KC has gone as far as they will ever go with Alex Smith. He's a fine QB, obviously you can win games with him, but when the playoffs hits he is going to be the second best QB on the field most of the time, and that is not a recipe for making a Super Bowl run. Now I don't know what the answer is, it isn't like you can just "go get a QB", but Alex Smith will never take you to the promise land. Reid's clock management yesterday left a little to be desired as well of course.
All teams are down players this time of year, Redskins, Bengals, Seahawks, Panthers, Patriots and Broncos, but none are making excuses. KC could have, would have, should have.
Disagree. Sure, everyone would like to have a Tom Brady at the helm but there aren't many of this caliber.
Alex Smith is good enough to win (Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson say hello). KC was without Maclin, Charles, and Houston. They had no push up the middle. Their DC called a poor game and had no plan to stop the quick slants.
Would be a fitting end to a fantastic careerThe wind was wreaking havoc on many of the passes dropped. Even the Steeler's dropped a few. If the wind is calm next weekend I like the Broncos chances against New England. Would love to see Manning get one more shot in Super Bowl 50.
This was not in response to your post, but agree with a couple of your thoughts. Marlow comments above was letting wind blow between his ears.KC was missing some pretty big pieces, and one piece that was there was limited at best so it's a legit reason for their offensive struggles, but I don't think I heard a single player or coach make any excuses. Pats will beat the Chiefs 80% of the time, more-so if you play the game in Foxboro, that result isn't going to be any different regardless if the Chiefs are at full strength or not. So no excuses from this Chiefs fan, the better team with the better coaching staff won, period.
