Totally agree...just like some people think Gallager smashing a watermelon is great comedy and others don't

Cool. I thought you we we not in agreement with the media thing.

Having had to brief the media before, I've got zero issue when Saban lays down the law what he will talk about and won't answer. But I don't think he crosses the line with the media.

He can get away with that for two reasons. One, multiple championships and two, he it doesn't carry over to his interaction with the media.

Um, did you see his response this week when a reporter asked him about Kirby Smart leaving? He is a complete *** with the media, not to mention how he has handled leaving jobs but gets away with it because he wins.

He could take a dump in Bama fans mouths and get away with it. Winning = be as big of a douche as you want. If Bo won at a high level, he would still be here. Douchiness or not.

Did you see the whole thing or just the juicy part? He told them he knew nothing more. They kept asking. Then he made the bottle reference. Again, I have no problem with that. As they say in court, "Asked and answered."

I don't like the guy, but he goes in front of cameras when he gets beat and is gracious, not an ***.

Probably right. We would all be praying that he didn't have a Woody Hayes moment.

How about him refusing the TV sideline reporter interview pregame? That's defying the expectations (from the conference and TV agreements) that every coach is aware of in a nationally televised game...

This is exactly a microcosm of our society. Win and you get to piss on anyone you want (aka the rules don't apply). Lose and there's more rules than you ever knew (and everybody wants to enforce them).

It'll catch up to Saban one of these days.

Nick Saban's job is to coach Alabama. His job does not include speculation or conjecture regarding future employment opportunities OUTSIDE of Alabama for current assistant coaches. Frankly, the Smart leak had the potential to become a major distraction. If anything, I thought Saban handled in a MUCH more professional manner than the clowns responsible for leaking the information immediately prior to the SEC Championship Game -- and a spot in the National Championship Playoff.

I agree totally. And when the media asks the same question multiple times I have no issue with how he handled it. He made it clear he had nothing further. And it wasn't like he went off on the media in that situation.
