If they took away some scholarships couldn't they work a NIL deal to cover the cost of school for a 5 star "walk on" plus the usual bag of cash? A stronger *** offer so to speak
That's so naive. Of course, the school can't sign a NIL contract with a player. But its boosters damn sure can. And effectively, there's very little difference.

At this point, nobody should still think it, thats for sure.NOBODY thinks that. It's just a lot easier and quicker to type LSU set up an NIL deal that the LSU coach covertly and indirectly contacted one or more key boosters who then "independently" contacted the student athlete to set up an NIL deal.
