I hate that people would lose their jobs but I hope one day the CL just folds up shop.

So if it were 2006, would it read…Andy Kennedy ‘perfect fit’ for Ole Miss basketball, looks like a penis’ doppelgänger?

At this point I don’t think the jobs even matter. They can’t pay these folks any money. Imagine being 22 and finishing your journalism degree to go in to print in 2022. The landscape says that’s a dying field so picking that to do for a living tells you all you need to know about the current under-30 writing talent.

Modern journalism. Ditch objectivity and neutrality and go for clicks and likes. It takes little talent to do what Thomas does at CL. You could pay an idealistic, moral absolutist high schooler minimum wage to do what he does.

I'm sorry, I had just had to read the article. It was equally terrible. He refers to consistent observations that Jans looks like Cruz (which is a stretch), then proceeds to provide one tweet (out of about 6-8 tweets) as an example. It's crazy that a supposedly serious sports writer would put this out into the world.

It's not like they're losing much of a job. I'm honestly amazed they're still around. Other than the occasional reminder I see on this board, I would have no idea that paper still exists.

Wow, that is just awful.
You think that they have reached the bottom but then they look up at you and plunge the shovel into the dirt to dig deeper.

That is just a bad article in general- its a content filler style article that is a waste to read regardless of who the coach is.

Is social media making society dumber, or is it allowing a voice to the dumbest of society?

Wow that is such a bizarre observation and a pretty poor one at that. Why would this guy feel the need to stretch so far to obviously attempt a dis of Mississippi State? Don't get me wrong, I actually like Ted Cruz but sheesh come on dude.

Solid plan - link it to a message board and give them more clicks. Want to hurt them? Unfollow anything from them and forget they exist…

Exactly .

Look at the typical CL tweet, which gets almost no notice in terms of likes or comments (it's kind of incredible), and then look at the activity on this tweet.

It should be obvious why they do this ****.

It's a bad tweet, but it's also just poor writing. You could say Jans is a Ted Cruz doppelgänger, or you could say that he looks like Ted Cruz. To say that he looks like a Ted Cruz doppelgänger probably means something different than what they are trying to say.

Hahaha good catch. He’s saying that Jans looks like somebody who looks like Ted Cruz. Brilliant.

I get that and I usually just roll my eyes and keep scrolling. This one was so bizarre that I thought it was one of the CL Parody accounts.

I don't follow any of their accounts, this was Twitter telling me X liked/replied this tweet or Topic "Mississippi State" or something to that effect.

That was scary 15+ years. Insane to even imagine now.

95% of what they do is regurgitate a story that is handed to them. When they don't you get crap like this!

pro tip - ignore media or politics that is intentionally written to cause a response. That is how they make YOU a product that keeps them employed.

Still don't know why anyone subscribes, follows, or has a paper from them.

So many better media outlets for news now especially sports coverage

The man just shared the tweet. If anyone clicked on the article, that’s on them. His point, I assume, was the terrible headline.
