Washington State coach Nick Rolovich has reportedly been fired with cause after he refused to take the COVID-19 vaccine.➡️ https://t.co/9cE2dTc84B pic.twitter.com/NeUNRrz36m— Yahoo Sports (@YahooSports) October 18, 2021

Not unexpected, considering that Washington State President Kirk Schulz (who a lot of MSU folks love from when he was here) said no one was going to get a free pass from the vaccination mandate. Link: here.

Doesn't matter. That argument is Irrelevant based on the Governor's Mandate Proclamation:

What does the Proclamation do?
The proclamation requires all state employees, higher education, childcare, and K-12 education employees, and most health and long-term care providers to be fully vaccinated with a recommended COVID-19 vaccine by October 18, 2021 as a condition of employment. Employers will need to verify vaccination status of all employees.
...

Is there any avenue to opt out of vaccination?

Under the proclamation, employees must show proof of vaccination by October 18, 2021. State employees may work with their agency’s human resources office if they need a reasonable accommodation for medical or religious reasons. Private sector employers may choose a different process.
...

What if someone refuses to get vaccinated?
All employees must be fully vaccinated by October 18, 2021 as a qualification of fitness for continued employment. Employees who refuse will be subject to non-disciplinary dismissal from employment for failing to meet the qualifications of the job. Those employees granted a reasonable accommodation for medical or religious reasons may not be subject to non-disciplinary dismissal. There may be continued or additional safety requirements for employees who are granted accommodations.

I understand that is what the mandate says but I think it should be debatable as to if that makes sense or not. I think science would show that natural antibodies are as good as the vaccine.

With that said, I’ve had covid and the vaccine and I’m an advocate of everyone getting the vaccine. I certainly wouldn’t lose my job over it but I’m guessing he’s made a little more money than me and probably can afford to take some time away.

Not "as good as" but about 10 times better. If you doubt that, ask Colin Powell. Also, I wonder if a " mandate proclamation" is actually a law ??

Powell had major issues medically, which is the same deal for a majority of covid deaths. With that said, if Powell were not vaccinated, you wouldn't hear about these underlying conditions, it would've been framed as he died bc he wasn't vaccinated

I guess the joke will be on all of other NCAA football coaches when he is the only coach alive after the 75% of the US adult population that is vaccinated dies from the nano technology beings birth out of our bodies.

Rolovich to Bama.

I have not got the shot yet, have not had Covid yet. I have considered getting it and probly will eventually but I know 3 people who had been vaxxed and still got Covid. Lots of people have had it where I work. One guy died that I know of. But I still do not think mandates are a good idea. And why are some people exempt from the mandate if its for our own good ??

First its vax yourself to keep your job. Then it will be your spouse and finally your kids. I love when the government gets involved in health care. Can't wait until the CDC declares gun violence a pandemic.

Incentivizing people with money or positive reinforcement to get the vaccine is far more effective than ruining people’s lives by taking away their livelihood.

I would recommend it if you haven’t had Covid yet. If you’ve had covid I would say you’re good unless you want to get one shot to get a nice immune boost. Therein lies the problem with some of the scientific grey areas with a mandate where people who have had covid are being made to get the shot or lose their job even though newer research has shown that those people **in most cases** should be good to go like a vaccinated person.

Freedom. Rise Up Patriots. Almost all self-proclaimed freedom loving patriots with bald eagle tats are gonna complain on social media and ultimately comply when a job's on the line. Well maybe not the ones without a family and kids and lousy jobs.

Hard to quit a good job over a shot. I don't think its necessary or even very effective but at the same time I don't think its the mark of the beast from the Bible either. Personally I am not that concerned about a virus with a 99%+ survival rate.
