Anybody else seeing TA drag people on Twitter?

He’s been calling a few of the “fake fans” out for their terrible takes and mid season meltdowns where they were tweeting at players and bashing the team. It’s absolutely glorious. Making some of these people look really dumb. Maybe it’ll teach people to get out of their feelings when we don’t play so well.

At a minimum, it tells people that the players see what they are posting and if you are a real fan it should tell you to quit posting crappy things about the players/team who have put more effort into the program than a fan ever will. Internet semi-anonymity seemingly causes some to forgo their regular manners. There's 0% doubt that most internet bad@$$es wouldn't even open their mouth in person to whomever they are criticizing. Could TA be seen as petty? Sure. Might I still find the call out deserved and refreshing in some way? Sure.

It's a great look. Certainly a much better look than those fans who post stupid vicious comments about kids playing a game they only wish they were good at.

It’s fine to be frustrated and even (reasonably) critical when things don’t go your team’s way, but if you talk **** to your own team instead of supporting them win or lose, you don’t get to enjoy the victory as much as fans that ride with their team no matter what. That’s not my opinion, that’s just the way it is. The joy of victory is directly related to the pain of defeat, and if you choose to abandon your team in defeat out of your own insecurity, the victory isn’t going to be as sweet.

And it’s a cop out to say “fan is short for fanatical” as an excuse for **** fans. That’s not an argument when there are plenty of passionate fans who aren’t so insecure that they have to talk **** when their team loses. You’re not more of a fan because you have personal insecurity issues that have nothing to do with your team.

Reading between the lines, it looks like this particular Twitter account guy might have been putting players on blast for being at some bar either the night before or after a game that they lost. If so, that goes wayyyyy beyond venting normal frustration of losses, and I’m glad they got what was coming to them from TA and whoever else.

It's twitter. As soon as you log on, you're automatically doused in feces.

TA is sitting atop the pinnacle of college baseball. It seems a bit petulant to feel the need to shout back at someone during the greatest moments of your life. Leave the dirt beneath your feet and relish in the moment and your accomplishments.

Completely agree here. When you sign up to play college sports (especially power 5) you are signing up to become a public figure as well. This is even more the case with NIL coming into play. Does being a public figure mean you can't get into internet fights? Absolutely not, but it most certainly isn't a good look to concern yourself with random folks venting on social media.

When I had a twitter account, I would make nice comments about plays and players. Mothers of players would follow my account and the very rare occasion I would get a like by a player. So yeah, they see.

Yeah as long as a fan isn’t directing tweets directly at players with @. I don’t see a problem with saying someone sucks. But @ them is too far. With a big MSU fan account though so many players follow it so you are almost like a public media. So it’s kind of trashy to trash players on a media account especially if it’s anonymous

Damn right. If I was in his position I'd be going down the list of everyone who talked **** TO me and my team. It's one thing to say it on SPS. When you address it directly to the player though then you deserve the comeuppance.
