Bednar vs. Rocker in Game 3 for the title?

I think we win Monday and Tuesday. Vandy is batting 214 in the CWS and committed a lot of errors. Plus their pitching looks tired.

This requires some context. We are not hitting much better at all, but the quality of stuff we have seen compared to what Vandy has seen are not even in the same stratosphere.

Texas and Virginia also have two of the best bullpens in the country.

Arizona and Stanford had average to below average pitching staffs relative to the rest of the Pac12.
Highfill is a solid starter with decent stuff and he shut them out.
The dudes NC State threw out there Friday had barely pitched all year. The starter was was getting misses on an 85 MPH fastball.

Us struggling at the plate this past week and Vandy struggling are not really the same thing, IMO. That said they are pitching well right now.

I say MacLeod, Harding, Bednar. It will be short rest for Houston and Bednar, but we haven’t used them on short rest all year. Now’s the time to see what we can get from them. Even a shorter but effective start from them could be enough with our bullpen.

We’ll need hot bats to win it. Tonight was promising with 11 hits.

Yep. One day less the necessary rest (per MLB Pitch Smart), one time, won't hurt Bednar. He's about to get paid anyway. Harding only threw 80 or so pitches, on the low end for the necessary 4 days rest. They'll be fine.

I think we are about to see Herculean performances by both Macleod and Harding, and we won't have to worry about Bednar.

Only if we win Monday obviously. If we don't win Monday we will actually have to pitch Bednar Tuesday. Its literally 2 out of 3. And no...our batting average is actually no better than theirs but we seem to get hits when we need them, literally

We will not pitch Bednar Tuesday, no matter the circumstance.

Those bats better wake up big time then. Im not overly confident in Hootie or McLeod. But hey...those boys seem to pull it off every game. I will be glued to every pitch

I love stats. I’m a stats guy. Also love analytics. But my eyes telling me that one team is locked in at the plate, and the other is not. The team that is, is MSU. Now, is some of that me expecting certain things from Vandy hitters that they aren’t doing, and MSU having a couple guys hitting above expectations? Yeah, maybe. But my eyes tell me I’d trust the MSU lineup much more right now.

And there’s no doubt you’ve faced tougher pitching in Omaha.
