For somebody like Lemonis who is supposed to be such a great coach - he has a really, really hard time recognizing when a pitcher doesn’t have it and it’s been like this all year.

After the first inning tonight I told my wife that, if it was up to me, McCleod would not see the field again, and yet Lemonis trots him back out there and promptly gives up 3 more runs.

All this plus our top of the order can’t get on base.

I don’t think this is our year. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think so.

It’s not unusual for pitchers to struggle, then settle in. Sometimes you bring in a reliever that doesn’t have it. Sometimes a pitcher has it, then loses it. People have also claimed Lemonis has a quick hook. He and Foxhall see everything we see. They know the staff. It just didn’t work out for us early in this game.

You had to pull the starter today. The game is just too damn important and we don't have the pitching depth to come out of the losers bracket. This was a must win, and the way we're swinging the bats (not at all), the margin for error is way too small.

McCloud has not shown us anything over the past month to be the starter tonight unless we wanted to spot the opponent 4 runs. Spotting runs is the only thing he has done consistently this back stretch. There is no debating this. And it got worse trotting him back out there in the 2nd.

That's not the point here. We're about the lose the game to a RAT pitcher even though we have pitched well since MCL.

Lemonis who has already won over 100 games and taken us to Omaha more than has **** for brains and cannot judge pitchers better than our arm chair coaching staff on the SPS.

We have a tendency to get dominated by great pitching. Fortunately our Regional and Super Regional were against teams that didn’t have a ton of pitching depth. But we’ve seen some arms with elite talent in Omaha and it has been a major problem.

The concern is we would probably see another one against Texas on Thursday night. Hansen is probably the best #3 starter in college baseball.

Exactly. MSU pitching has given up 5 runs in 16 innings. That is great pitching. Our 1-7 batters are doing a hell of an imitation of our 8 and 9 batters right now.
