Just looking at this guy. Grad student transfer. LHP, looks like he followed a similar path as Bednar. He was their game 2 guy most of the season. Started the game 1 of their last series, game 2 of ACC tourney, and the game 1 of the regional. He has gone around 6-7 innings most of the season but two of his last three starts have been complete games. He went 9 innings against Va Tech & threw just 95 pitches, 1 ER, 0 BB, 8 Ks. Followed that up with a stinker vs UVA, 1 inning, 31 pitches, 5 ER, 0 BB, 0 Ks. Then another 9 inning gem vs Cent Mich. 108 pitches, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 Ks.

He is a strike thrower and seems to pitch to contact and is backed by a solid defense which is probably how he lasts so long. We gotta put the ball in play on him but we also cannot afford to give him 5-10 pitch innings. Don't know how he will respond to the big stage. He is a veteran player so that might help him with that. We really need to get to him early because he seems like the kind of guy if he gets a clean inning or two could go 8 or 9 on you.

I would characterize what happened in hoover more as grossly uncharacteristic. The reaction to what happened was spot on because we looked like stir fried day old pig crap. With that, we can forget about hoover.

Besides the fact that we didn't have much to gain out of the tournament, I still think having both of our games start at 9 am in the morning was a big factor. Apparently our team just has a lot of guys that aren't morning people. By the time our players woke up each day the games were already over.

It’ll be a big test for ND. Saturday, they will play in front of a crowd 3-4x larger than any they have played in front of all season. Some teams elevate in that environment and some wilt. We’ll see how ND handles it.

We will be the first host team ND has played. NC State is probably the best team they’ve played this year up until now, and that was in South Bend.

I haven't looked recently, but last time I looked at the splits we hit lhp better than rhp. Tanner and Dubrule did for sure. Which I know is odd. Maybe that has changed??

True. They didn't play a really easy schedule but they didn't play the toughest one either. Out of the current D1 top 25 they played 2 teams, we played 10. Of the top 25 RPI we played 11 teams they played 3.

Don't get me wrong, ND was on fire this past weekend and playing with a chip on their shoulder. If we are not on our A game we will get knocked out in two games. With that said, I do think the atmosphere is a huge advantage for us especially since this is all uncharted territory for the leprechauns. Hopefully we can tell, they've never been this far before...bom, bom, bom. (my apologies to conway twitty)

I think I read that too but I think the biggest factor has to do who the pitcher is not the arm he throws with. Rowdey is a switch hitter but probably has more power from the left side. I don't think it matters to Tanner Allen. I think a lefty gives us a bigger advantage for our three right handed power hitters James, Tanner, and Cumbest. Forsythe is a righty but it probably doesn't make much difference but maybe gives him a little more of a chance. The other two lefty hitters Hancock and Clark not sure.
