Any temptation to start Sims against VCU?

If we were thinking along those lines, we should have started him in the SEC tournament. I don't like giving a reliever his first start in a regional unless you're in a game 4 or 5 situation and have little choice. So no, start MacLeod.

Not even a little temptation. I am about 100% sure that has never even been thought by Lemonis. Sims is a max energy closer.

Bednar has gone more than 4 in 10 of his 12 starts. Mac has in 7 of his 15 starts (2 of those that he didn’t was his first 2 starts). And I highly doubt Sims could go 4. Certainly not in the same pitching style you see him throw in the 8th or 9th.

If we can go without using him tonight, I'd definitely "consider" starting him tomorrow. But we're going to use him tonight.

I disagree. Ideally Sims would throw only 1 and be available for more innings this weekend. If he throws 3 tonight, I bet he’s done for the weekend.

ever thought that maybe he’s so successful because people only get to face him once maybe twice and then that’s it??? How many times ever in the history of baseball has a team moved their star closer to a starting role mid season (hell end of the season) and it’s been successful?
