Looks like Samford has three pitchers who have started 13+ games and all have ERAs north of 5. So, no they don’t have anything that resembles an ace.

Actually one of them is former State pitcher Jesse McCord.

Seriously though, I am happier with a #7 matchups much better. Nothing is easy but I really was not enthusiastic about the possible team matchup if we made the CWS.

FWIW the 7th national seed makes it to Omaha 48% of the time. The 7th national seed has never won it all.
