Rocket Watts is a heck of a name.

No excuses for Howland this year. He’s rebuilt the roster well. This absolutely should be a tournament team, and if it’s not, time to move on.

Hope so. But it’s going to be a shock for these guys. Jeffries especially is going from press and running up and down the court to Howland’s walk it up the court, set high pick screens and pass it around the perimeter a few times before jacking up a shot with 3 seconds left on the clock offense.

Big get if true. Watts was a starter at Mich State game 1 freshman year. You don't start at that school from game 1 freshman season unless you can seriously play. Ol Blue is a moron. Michigan State fans were all pleading for him to stay all over his twitter.

Howland really isn't messing around. He is getting guys here and with some eligibility left.

I am hoping Rocket is really on his way because that would be crazy to get two highly ranked PG's when it was the only position left of major concern. I don't even know which one would start or even on the floor together. Lots of combinations are possible.

If this happens, this team not only is a NCAA tourney bid likely but it has a chance to make some noise once they get there.

These guys may have some growing pains but by the time SEC play gets here they should have a lot figured out and by end of season this team could be really really good.

I haven't watched Moore or Watts play, but based on what I'm reading, it doesn't look like either Molinar, MOore, or Watts are true PGs, which is good in that it gives lots of flexibility with three different guys that can play the point (although with the way Molinar was used later in the year, I'm guessing he may spend the least time at the point) or as off guards. I guess they can all three play together when we want to play small. The potential bad is that if one isn't a clear point guard, we may struggle with defining roles.

Of course, I will echo the other posters that can't find any confirmation that Watts is actually committing.

So, we will have a top six of:

1.Watts
2.Moore
3.Molinar
4.Jeffries
5.Brooks
6. Tolu Smith

Then Cam Matthews and Derek Fountain wrapping up the top 8?

Going to have a lot of flexibility as far as going big or small with that group. Biggest concern to me looks to be figuring out chemistry and being able to get critical buckets. while Molinar and Brooks can both score, I'm not sure either will be the type of scorer we can give the ball to and have them go get us a bucket.

Eagerly awaiting an official statement from anyone.
He isnt a traditional PG(was moved away from it mid-season) and is a SG with low %s, but if he can break a damn press he is welcome with open arms.

Based on the timestamps on the crystal ball, it looks like maybe Watts was letting teams in contention know he was going somewhere else, or alternatively that he let Michigan State know and they were finding out through Michigan State.

I mean, they wouldn't be changing their chrystal ball based on Paul jones sharing information would they? I assume they are committed to using their own sources and not sharing info with each other for crystal ball purposes?
