Leiter’s strike zone reminded me of the zone Greg Maddox and Tom Glavine got back in the day. They could miss close enough that the ump figured “well, it’s Maddox so that must have been a strike”.

To be fair, lots of guys got strikes called that were two or three inches off the plate, Maddox and Glavine just hit that spot a hell of lot more often than other pitchers.

They definitely did. Straight up said that Bednar was better than Leiter tonight. More than once.

Yes they did. KP does a good job, and always speaks well of our team/stadium/atmosphere.

But we lit up Leiter. Relatively speaking...

This. They were right to go into the game planning on a Jack Letter party. He's been amazing up until this point. KP made the switch from talking up Leiter to Bednar in the 3rd and by the 5th, KP was saying this start against Leiter will be on line one of Bednar's resume. As it should.

They pointed out the bad calls from the ump on both sides. I thought it was a great call and I wish we could get that quality of a game call it in big games in every sport.

Good grief. KP is one of the best color guys for college baseball there is. Knows the game and conveys it well.

Our fanbase is so freaking emotional about broadcast teams. Every broadcaster isn't out to get State.

Trust me......those guys tonight did a good job. They are good at what they do.

It's a fact that way more scouts and MLB player personnel are watching Leiter than Bednar. He's Trevor Lawrence on a bump. It's not slighting Bednar to say that he doesn't get the attention that Leiter does.

Until tonight, Leiter was on pace to possibly have the greatest pitching season in college baseball history. He was 7-0 with a 0.98 era, leading the world in K's and threw a 16 k no hitter against the number 11 team in the country a few weeks ago.

Leiter deserves the hype... Mississippi State and Bednar shoved it up his butt last night and his era nearly doubled by giving up 4 runs late in the season.

Leiter is a good story and has had a great start this season until last weekend and last night. Scouts see his potential. He's small and needs to get bigger.

Although the ump helped him out a little with a widened strike zone, you can see that both Rocker and Leiter have excellent control of their location.

I think Leiter's arm may need a little rest based on the last two weekends and that's why he was pulled a little early.

Both Rocker and Leiter throwing mechanics are like they are both relievers, very hard. You can see the difference with several of our pitchers, smooth almost effortless form.
