Hatcher started every single game until game 2 against Ole Miss. He's 1 for 6 since. Wouldn't call that a response.

His 9 for 20 stretch game against Grambling and Eastern Michigan

Since SEC play has started his average has dropped from 259 to 195 and he's only had one week where he brought his batting average up to even show signs of life and that was a week went 4 for 15 and that brought his average from 200 to 209

He shouldn't be starting or starting daily at all

I think you are getting confused on posts. My reply was about Dubrule getting benched, and Dubrule was the one with the 9 for 20 stretch. Pretty sure Hatcher hasn't had a 9 for 20 stretch all season. And Dubrule sat at least four games before getting back into the starting lineup.

Hatcher missed one start. It was completely pointless. Really needed Allen at first and Cumbest in right for a few games (or some other combination) to see how everybody responded.

Hatcher has never hit anywhere close to 300 over several years. He's been a subpar hitter his entire career.

Should have never moved Tanner Allen off 1B to hand this guy a position. Tanner Allen was every bit as good if not better than Hatcher at 1b. Thee simple move is to move Allen back to 1B and open up an outfield spot. If not a permanent move, then at least can be done in certain matchups to get a better offensive team on the field.

Full on fail with this post. He was our 3rd leading hitter last season as an every day player (over .300) and the two guys ahead of him were both first round draft picks. Him, Allen, and Rowdey were our 3 best returning hitters coming into the year, and the only 3 that were proven. We’ve gotten what we expected from Allen and Rowdey. Hatcher really needs to figure it out.

Last season we moved our most proven hitter off 1b to the OF, which led to a broken wrist, to put a give a guy a starting position. Since that time he's struggled mightily as a hitter.

You don't want to banish him to the bench thats fine. I can support that thought process, but to just hand him that position when he's NEVER been successful as an every day first baseman. I don't get either.

Are you lacking reading comprehension? Hatcher was a better hitter than the guy that moved to the outfield last season, as an every day player. He was a better hitter than Rowdey Jordan last season. He has not struggled “since that move was made”, he’s struggled since this season started. And what does Allen’s broken wrist have to do with anything? Guys play outfield and get moved to the outfield all the time without breaking their wrist. It was a fluke thing that unfortunately happened because it’s 17ing sports and sometimes guys get hurt. He didn’t break his wrist because of the position change, that’s dumb as hell to even insinuate.

Hatcher is one of maybe only 5 or 6 guys on the whole damn roster that has proven that, when’s he’s locked in, he can hit at an SEC level over a decent period of time. The others being TA, Rowdey, James as solid with Dubrule and Forsythe possibly getting there. He needs to get going because there just isn’t anyone else that is going to be able to take his spot, unfortunately.

Dear God-- B/C hatcher's batting average was .311 last year he's better than the other guys?? Again last season, before the last 4 games of the season hatcher was hitting 209.

This year-- 8 for 55, .145 average
Last year-- was not any
Soph year-- 16 for 67, .238 average
Fresh year-- 15 for 81, .185 average

career-- 39 for 203, .192 career hitter in the SEC

Certainly hasn't proven he can hit SEC pitching.
