Exactly. My hip is hurting right now, I had blackeyed peas for supper last night. The peas caused my hip to hurt.Nothing in that article shows any evidence that the stroke was caused by the vaccine.
If there are concerns, it’s probably best to pause its distribution temporarily until they can be reviewed. Remember, the J&J shot is less effective and is a far smaller percentage of administered shots compared to Pfizer and Moderna. If it were one of those two, I think this conversation would be different.
Noooooo....the vaccine is perfectly safe. It has been thoroughly tested. Believe the science and be a good citizen and take it. This virus only has a 99+ % survivability. Trust the vaccine but still keep social distancing and don't forget to double mask to protect you and others
Member when you spent months yelling about the perils of the virus and proclaiming anyone who went out in public for anything that wasn’t essential was incredibly selfish because we must do everything possible to reduce the risk of the virus, but you chose to go to a high school football game? Even though you had been telling us going out in public with a mask on poses a bigger risk to spreading the disease than staying at home. I member. But now you mock people for being concerned about the vaccine after the CDC shut it down. What is wrong with you?Exactly. My hip is hurting right now, I had blackeyed peas for supper last night. Lots of people are "otherwise healthy" until their first heart attack or stroke.
I'm not saying that it absolutely was not caused by the vaccine, but every single day there are young people you have strokes, or worse, just drop dead with no apparent cause. If the rate from people who recently got the vaccine matches the background rate then it would confirm that the vaccine does not cause harm, or at least does not cause any more harm than other activities.

In the FDA-mandated human trials for J&J, the controls got a placebo. Frequency of stroke in control group receiving placebo: 1 in 1000.
Don’t take this as an anti vax question, but if there is a serious risk (just like an allergic reaction) a person ought to know that risk especially if we are talking about a kid. Let’s hope these are all just coincidence and we can move on.
Remember when I told you I don't have to get within 20 feet of anyone (and didn't) given what I do at games? I was not a spectator in the stands. I wasn't mocking the CDC. I was mocking one specific post. I do think the CDC got it wrong. If you look at it by the numbers, and in public health that is what you do, pausing the vaccine is going to kill more people than than letting it proceed. THAT being said, once we have enough Moderna and Pfizer for everyone in the US we need to stop the J&J here simply because the other two are more effective, again that's by the numbers.Member when you spent months yelling about the perils of the virus and proclaiming anyone who went out in public for anything that wasn’t essential was incredibly selfish because we must do everything possible to reduce the risk of the virus, but you chose to go to a high school football game? Post hoc ergo propter hoc
Its terrible and awful that he died but jumping to conclusions too quickly isn’t right. There’s a guy we go to church with thats in his mid 20s and great shape with no health issues that a couple of years ago started feeling some pain in his legs. He went to the doctor and discovered he had clots in his legs and was probably days away from a stroke. No prior history and no health issues. Not saying that’s the case here but it’s far too early to jump to conclusions.
Don't confuse them with facts. In the FDA-mandated human trials for J&J, the controls got a placebo. Frequency of stroke in control group receiving placebo: 1 in 1000.
I am not sure why folks are up in arms with the “scientist” questioning the science? (They are the ones who called for the pause) Every approved drug that eventually was pulled from the market was deemed “safe” at one point. Pfizer and Moderna actually have more reported cases of DVT than does JNJ which makes me wonder why they picked on JNJ except that AZ is reportedly having similar issues and is not yet approved here.

Not surprised you sit alone. Didn’t say you mocked the CDC. You mock people for being concerned and following the CDC guidance. I’m glad to know you now think the CDC got it wrong after losing your mind on people for disagreeing with the CDC previously.Remember when I told you I don't have to get within 20 feet of anyone (and didn't) given what I do at games? I think Pfizer is going to do it in the next week or so. Moderna is usually a week or two behind them. All 3 are under EUAs, but both Pfizer and Moderna should have enough data to apply for full licensure.
