So, on Friday night, there was a story about the LSU pitcher... i can't remember his name right now and am too lazy to look it up. The story was.... he had been receiving lots of coaching and mentorship from an LSU alum (a pitcher) that had spent some time in the majors and is now "retired." I am positive they said that they then moved in together and have been able to really use that time to hone in on his pitching/baseball skills. So, is this permissible? A current player living with an alum (possibly a booster.... who knows?) Did I miss something? Or maybe i just didn't hear the story correctly while watching it outside around other people. Anyone?

Penny Hardaway would like to know the answer to this. And no I’m not white knighting for what he did.

Don't think there's rules against this. Didn't Renardo Sidney do something similar. Went to Houston to stay with a former pro to get himself off the "cheeseburgers".

Wouldn't matter if it was against the rules, it would just be ignored like everything else they do.

Now let La Tech or Ark State do it and it's another matter

I recall correctly there were no MSU ties to the mentor in Houston in the Sidney case.

Renardo Sidney went to John Lucas for 'training and counseling' when he was already a student at MSU. He actually went twice, and it wasnt by choice- Bury laid down the law.
