experience with or recommendations for quality contractors in North MS, specifically Desoto County? One local contractor, McConnell Curb Appeal, has a first class website with numerous pictures of past projects.

My limited research suggests outdoor kitchens can vary greatly in price depending upon what is involved. I’m looking at a $40,000-45,000 budget and don’t have a good grasp on what that will buy me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For God's sake, don't tell them what your budget is,

just tell them the key things that you want.

And go from there.

It sounds like you budgeted for a commercial kitchen not an outdoor kitchen unless I'm missing something.

Pizza oven, smoker, griddle, fryers, ice maker, beer tap, gas grill, full size fridge, vent hood, sink, dishwasher. Quartz counter tops.

You are exactly right with you’re research on prices. I’ve been involved in building several and the prices have varied from $20,000 to $350,000. There are so many different ways you can go building one it’s hard to say what you’re budget will get you. I would suggest that you find a designer, get some plans drawn with what you are looking for and then get several quotes from contractors.

No idea about the rest of your quote, but plumbing and electrical is bad low, unless you got a benevolent buddy in the trades. Site prep can sometimes hang a multiplier on these jobs, too. Drainage...

I got a $110 grill from Lowe's with a $30 cover from Amazon that spends most of its time on the ground beside it that my 12lbs dog pees on every night before bed.

I'm doing one here in the next month or so. Had the electrical and gas already run. I've bought a sink, access doors, and a storage drawer. As far as equipment goes, I opted for a Wolf 42" grill with a side burner. I ordered stone veneer from M-rock. We went for the Meridian. I ordered a sample of some other veneer and I wasn't happy with it. We ordered 2 samples from M-rock and we liked it. I'm going to finish it off with granite countertops. I have an opening for a refrigerator and will get a Subzero when the time comes.

I subbed out my own pool and outdoor living 3 years ago and helped my friend this past summer. I have a pretty good idea on costs in the Dallas area which would be comparable or higher than Memphis area. Now I am assuming this is going on a shared wall of the house with easy access to water/sanitary lines. If you have to trench or tunnel under a slab it gets crazy expensive.

The high end of the national average shows up as $3750 with the low end where I said it is for plumbing an outdoor kitchen( High end west coast or NE and low end in the south.)

The electrician is nothing. He is just dropping down from the soffit and will be in and out in less than a day.
