Same as last week. You've got to think they're just giving Cerantola 1 more

chance to show he's capable of pitching to his potential and hopefully get some confidence. If he keeps doing the same old same old, someone else takes that spot for LSU. Equally as important, we need our Friday night starter to finally look like a Friday night starter. I'd take Bednar ahead of both of them right now. To be honest, I'd give Houston Harding a shot soon if our first 2 guys can't figure things out in a hurry.

Agreed. You have to think he will have a short leash but the talent obviously shows and Lemonis has proven he WANTS him to pitch if he can. But if he tanks Saturday, you cant think hes starting SEC play....

The problem with jerking him out of the rotation is that you almost lose him all together. We naturally think he’d be great in long relief, but do you really trust him in a 3-2 rubber game in Baton Rouge?

I’m sure his leash is getting short, but he’s someone worth investing innings in right now, IMO. It’s still early.

What are the chances of him improving to a level whether he is an effective weekend starter in the next 2-3 weeks? They must think he is closer than I do because he seems no closer than 2 years ago. There are just way too many big misses where there’s no chance of a hitter offering.

At this point he is what he is. A player who has a two year history of control issues isn't suddenly going to start pounding the zone. I think his best roles on this team are as a midweek guy and perhaps as a situational pitcher for a batter or two.

Well if you lose him you just do. At some point you gotta fish or cut bait.

Pretty simple to me. Harding and Cerantola should switch roles until Cerantola shows more. At least in mid-week games you normally have a little more room for error with the pitcher.

Long relievers are put into games because the starter is in trouble, you don't just pitch a starter 2-3 innings and pull him if he's pitching well. With that in mind, can we really afford to bring Cerantola in w/ 2 or 3 on and no or 1 out? If he can't start a game w/ no pressure on him and last, I don't see him coming on in a pressure situation wild as he is w/ guys on base and making it

Didn't Dakota Hudson struggle his first couple of years and then something clicked before or during that 2016 season and he became the Friday guy.
