Has MSU made a decision regarding summer camps?

I’ve looked at the Extension Service website but don’t see anything other than cancelled dates from last year.

Thread Hijack: Have any of ya'll ever been to Camp Tallaha in Tallahatchie County? If you ever want a free blood transfusing, give it a shot. The bugs out there make the Naked and Afraid episodes in the Congo look like a trip to Grandma's. I think I lost 3-5 years of my life camping out there as a kid.

I have no idea why this just dawned on me...

I think I went there once or twice when I was in Boy Scouts. Around early to mid sixties.

The Free State of Tally! Played football against Strider Academy in the early 80s, they had the biggest mosquitoes in the world, they could bite through should pads. I'm from the Delta, so I know skeeters, but these were on another level.

Played there many times as well. Once coming home from a JR high game, I asked my dad why he wasn't using the wipers with the rain pouring down. He said "son, it's not raining, those are mosquitoes"

We played against them too. They use to be a 1A powerhouse. If my memory serves me correctly, their legendary coach was Coach Bradshaw. I heard stories where they would do grass drills (chop'em up/hit it) in the gravel parking lot and tackling drills on a row of pine tress that lined that parking lot. The stories always reminded me of Bear Bryant.

Yes his name was Joe Bradshaw, they won several titles in the 70/80s. He used some salty language on the field, but my coach was a disciple of his and said Coach Bradshaw would do anything for anyone. I think his daughter went to State in the early 90s.

I grew up between Cascilla and Paynes..not far from Camp Tallaha and closer to Camp Lakeside on Ascalmore (sounds like skull-more) Lake...I wasn’t in the Boy Scouts, but I was all over those hills for the first 20 years of my life..

My grandmother had a collection of arrowheads from Skullmore Creek she gathered in the early 1900s. I've always wanted to walk that creek.

I didn't know that. Looks like he coached Noxubee Co in the 60s as well.
