I appreciate his long tenured service. But he gets hit harder than a bong at Willie Nelson's funeral.
No more unless we are down by 10 and need to save an arm.

Just purely based on what we saw today, maybe Sims should be our closer.
Eta- he was pretty much our closer today. That bases loaded no out jam he got us out of with 3 K's was dynamite.
Hear ya on this but Sims is too strong to be a closer...he’s where he needs to be (giving us 4 DOMINATE innings a game). Leave him be.
He used to be before he started getting hurt. It's amazing to me how "clutchness" goes hand in hand with overall talent. He's just got a bad delivery which lends itself to injuries. He's out there throwing like 75 and that won't get it done.Yeah for whatever reason he just doesn’t have the clutchness that we need in a late inning pitcher.
Technically he's just what would be considered a redshirt senior. Spencer Price is the one who's really old, he's in his 6th year playing college ball (but at least he can blame it on TJ recovery).I literally can’t believe he’s still playing college baseball. I remember the solid campaign in 2017, followed by 2018 where he was terrible. In 2018 in the Vandy super regional when we got a 3 run lead late, and he promptly gave up a 3 run shot in the bottom of the 9th or 10th or whatever to tie it. There were numerous arguments / discussions about how he was playing hurt all year, and whether or not he’d be back after the draft. That was three 17ing years ago and here he still is playing at MSU.

I mean he’s 27 and in his eighth season with us. I appreciate what he’s done in the past but it’s obvious the past 2 plus years he doesn’t have it.
