Is still better than most days. Tried to go catch some smallmouth on the Snake River on Sunday. The wind was uncooperative and I probably don't know what I am doing anyway... But oh well.

Get outside gents. The rona screwed our commercial lives up, but the great outdoors await. It's soul cleansing at its finest... Maybe next time I'll catch a fish.

Did you try many crawfish patterns? Haven’t fished there but if there are smallies around they’ll hit a jig with a crawfish trailer.

I was using woolly boogers and a san juan worm. It was just way too windy... Gusting over 30 mph in the canyon. Lost my hat a few times.

I'll give the crawfish a go next time... Might have to buy em online. I have not seen any crawfish at the local fly shops.

Been about 8 years since I’ve been to the Snake River. Some of the prettiest sites I’ve seen. And you are right being in that area is very therapeutic

We'll be moving there in April. Hell's Canyon jetboating/fishing sounds like a great trip -- I can help you fill out the boat. I've only been on the Snake around Jackson, WY. Looking forward to seeing more of it

Idaho/NW Wyoming seems like a great place to live, but I’m not sure I could handle the winters.

At least I'll have all the fuzzy feelings I get from reading the Sixpack basketball hot takes to keep me warm

Oh yes you can. It all depends on where you live... The cities are in the valleys at low elevations. Some valleys have cold air that comes off the Mountains others have warm air. I choose Boise because it's really warm here and you don't have to battle snow.

Boise gets the same amount of snow as Amarillo each year.... But you can drive 30 minutes up the mountain and ski and snowboard from Thanksgiving until Easter.

Currently at 9:30 am local time it's 50° (10° warmer than Jackson) and looking ahead in the 15 day forecast, we are going to be in the Upper 40's for highs and barely break freezing on a few days for lows. My unlucky *** is going to Omaha next week. The highs there are going to be around 10 and lows below zero.

The lowest temperature we have had this winter in Boise was 18°.... But I drove across southern WY last month and it's a cold miserable place.

Rock Springs, WY early in the morning.
