3 in a row vs the gators! I can remember a time not too long ago when state couldn’t buy a win against them for years. Feels good!

Important win for sure. Played well for the most part. I continue to be very underwhelmed by Mike White.

Have to beat OM on Tuesday, no if, ands, or buts about it. We have been in this spot before going into an OM game and totally pooped the bed. Can’t happen again, especially in The Hump.

It’s almost as if state fans hate a basketball win lol

Maybe some of us noticed that the Missouri team this State team beat by 15 just beat the A&M team this State blew a double digit lead to lose by 4, and realize that they will win a few they should and lose a few they shouldn’t, and it is hard to get into it.

It boggles my mind how so many State fans, at least the ones on here, have no interest in supporting a team that doesn’t have a lot of success. When MSU hasn’t had a lot of historical success in ANY team sport except baseball. I don’t know where that attitude comes from, but it’s strange.

So we probably should've lost to mizzou and beat aTm

Honestly don’t understand why only 1 out of 3 like this post. I watched the whole thing at the Smokin Tuna in Mike Leach’s honor, and it was a great win. Ending was ****, but if you want a happy ending, go to a Vietnamese massage parlor or start following Alabama football

We made a final 4 about 25 years ago, so we pretty much Duke lite

My quick math says we are 32-26 vs the SEC in the last 3 years which is strong. I never thought this team would be .500 in the SEC. This year had been Howland’s best coaching job at MSU despite a 2-4 monumental breakdowns

We have some diehard fans that will follow it, but almost zero casual fans. Most State fans I encounter on a regular basis couldn’t name two players that have come through the program in the post-Stans era.

They were saying on the broadcast that state is only behind Kentucky, Tennessee, and Auburn in SEC wins the last few years. 2 of those teams are blue bloods. The other school has great coach. Seems like Howland has done a pretty decent job considering where we were before he took over.

No, we should be 1st! We have no real resources, about 700 fans a game, and pay our staff bottom 3 in the sec, but dammit, we should BA in basketball

I think his point is everyone has no problem getting into it when we lose. Kind of strange actually

Since when did UT or Auburn become a blue blood? That’s ridiculous.

All teams have that issue in basketball. 12th ranked Clemson is getting blown out by Virginia - currently have a 34 point lead inside 2 minutes in the game.

I never said Auburn is, but Tennessee has a pretty darn good history. Maybe blue blood is pushing it a bit for UT, but they are a great program.

There are only a few Big Orange homers that think UT is anywhere close to a blue blood basketball program. And you.

Just like it is hard to get too excited with one loss the same is true with one win. Our goal is to make the NCAA tournament so every win helps. I was excited about this win until we let UF take the potential game tying shot. We almost gave this one away. The big take away however is the play of Ado and Tolu. If we can get them to play the way they did today this team could be unstoppable.

I’ve learned to not give a crap about NCAA tournament. We haven’t made it past the first weekend in... I can’t do that much math anymore. I just enjoy the season, hope we don’t embarrass ourselves and win more than we lose. Expecting anything more out of MSU sports is going to end in disappointment most of the time.

This is a fun team to watch. They’ve had ups & downs, but I think that should be expected considering how we almost completely rebuilt this roster during the covid year.

Tennessee basketball as a whole becomes part of the blue blood conversation when pat summit is included.

I would not consider the men's team alone to be.

It isnt hard to get too excited over a loss. This board melts the 17 down each time the team loses. Like beat your dog melt down. The dramatics and generalizations come out in full force each time the team loses, and the inevitable side argument over Stans also takes place.
Its like clockwork.

This board turns into a bunch of 9 year olds each time MSU loses.

Clearly they are at least a top tier SEC program. 8 sweet 16 appearances is pretty good.

My point still remains. Those programs have been pretty darn good the last several years, and we are right behind them in number of SEC wins the past few years apparently.

The biggest takeaway tonight was that State was able to find production from somewhere else when DJ was off and Iverson wasn’t nearly as dominate as he has been. We knew exactly what to do with ball and pound the paint! I believe we need to play exactly like that Tuesday. I think Ole Miss is pretty small.
