Cohen made Leach.......

Take down a tweet about Trump, but let her keep one about Biden and Harris. That is when I knew our sports department became more about a message and a movement than winning. Cohen basically said screw all of you who don’t think like me politically.

All sports have become social justice platforms. Thats just the way the world is these days. But I hate that our women have fallen back like they have. We are use to being top 5 and now sadly top 25 might be a stretch. I do not think its lack of talent either. I firmly believe it is lack of discipline and backbone. But oh well. This is just one more thing. Everyone was quick to point that out with Jomo. Maybe eventually it will be solved here but doubtful it will be pointed out by many

How many years of this type of performance do you guess she’ll get?

I mean, nothing about that is true, but if it helps you sleep at night, keep believing it.

She had a post about Biden on her personal Twitter, but Cohen made her take it down.

She will get longer than she deserves. People will just quit caring about WBB, it’s not football. It’s doubtful that enough of the cigar boys care enough to write a check.

Also, Leach has not Tweeted about Trump since he was hired, so the entire story about Cohen making him take this Tweet down is a complete fabrication on from "Fighting Irish."

Let's not forget that ADs all over the country (who are mostly conservative) have been turned off by Leach for decades. Cohen at Bill Moos (formerly of Washington State) are the only ADs who've ever given the guy a chance. Cohen loves Leach and trusts him so much that he's tied his fate at MSU to Leach's.

I don’t give a **** about her politics as long as she wins. Same with leach. I would hope most would feel this way. But to be honest, I don’t understand why coaches just can’t refrain from making political post. It’s all too polarizing now.

I find it funny that people say Nelle is running the show and wants an SJW hire, yet Cohen hired Leach.

The people that claim Cohen is making hires based on politics and making things difficult on conservatives are probably just a dumb.

I assume Cohen enjoys making half a million a year and would like to keep that up. I also assume Cohen is not nearly as political as some on this board this think. He’s managed to keep the peace with the top brass making most of the donations, which I assume is most likely heavily conservative.

So on the one hand he says screw you if you don't think like me politically, then on the other he hires a known Trump supporter in Leach. Something about that doesn't add up....

To quote a wise coach, “You play to win the game”. 17 politics a coach either wins or they don’t. Not saying she will not work, or that I do not want her to. I honestly miss the days in which coaches were judged on winning, not some tweet they posted in support of something that has nothing to do with winning the game.

2 weeks after she was hired she was making videos dancing with players. I said then that it would not work. Never been more sure of something. You can’t be good friends with players.

I don’t care abt her politics but I don’t think she should tweet abt them while she is the head coach at Mississippi State.

Same with leach and lemonis and Howland.

Is there an election coming up for leadership of the John Cohen Fan Club? If so, dawgstudent should sell you and LSHF advertising spots.

You both want it so bad.

Why does every thread on here end up turning into a political thread? Personally, I believe our coach is battling personality issues with this team which is typical when the coach wants to be friends with the players. Last night we were wearing "We Back" T shirts. I don't know what that means based on the outcome of the game. Maybe, as someone on here stated, it meant we're back to where we were before Vic arrived.

Exactly, why do people even bring this mess up. Everyone, for the most part, falls on one side of the political spectrum or the other. Has ZERO to do with their job performance which is what the concern here should be. Its not like she is out making political speeches or something. And unlike JoMo, NMP is not a first time D1 head coach. I was expecting more from her right out of the gate given the talent we have. Looking at her ODU resume though her first year there was very rough as well for whatever reason. In years 2 and 3 her teams really took off. We can only hope something similar happens here.

We Back Pat, for Pat Summitt and Alzheimers. WBB teams do this every year.

Joe Moorhead had been the head coach for 4 years at Fordham, where he won a couple of conference titles ... while they were the only team in the conference with scholarships.

I bet he would've won the SEC here too if the other 13 teams were walk-on only.

Supporting a treasonous president that promotes hostile takeovers of our government is a lot different than being excited about a new president/vp with the vp being a black woman like Coach.

Shut down this political ********.

I think they should be able to post what they want and let public opinion handle it but as far as coaching goes she wasn't ready for a big time job and she should be gone if she can' learn quick. She was handed a brand new Italian sports car but she has driven it like a 1973 pinto that's about to get hit from the rear.

I am as conservative as a man can be but I could not give a lesser damn about her politics. I do care about lack of hustle, not playing D, and our girls making pouty faces when things don't got their way.

I am not sold on NMP but last night made me really question our players for the first time.

I agree, making this about politics is just stupid.
Coach has a group of young women who were ranked high and used to dominating most opponents. We had to get a new coach, because the coach that everyone loves LEFT MSU and we obtained one that has an amazing resume. She is still somewhat learning on the job and this team is young and very impressionable (just go to their social media, it's silly. I have a 19 yr old daughter, and that's how they are). Coach Nikki will figure this out and the friend game is probably done now. Pissed off coach is now in the house.
MSU women will not be ranked in the top 5 for awhile, but they will be a solid team.

You tell him Kimmer

After all the treasonous acts of the democrats over the last 4 years a few republicans getting out of control is hardly treason. Let's just make this a political discussion because the team isn't playing well.

Agree.

In my opinion, the problem with our women's basketball team is that they don't have a good coach.

Her time and concern devoted to political messages takes away from her focus on improving our team and winning basketball games.

That is her job (winning basketball games), and she should focus her attention on that.

Of course, this is just my opinion . . . I could be wrong.

This team is far more comparable to the 2016 team than anything. Vics best teams had star juniors and seniors. And the conference is better this year.

I have no idea what the issues are with this coach and team. But it's damn near impossible for a coach to effectively go from being every player's friend to being the authoritarian figure. If you try, you're just going to end up with pissed off and confused players. If you start out authoritarian, they tend to accept it much better and then you can ease off a little if you need to.

Fordham is FCS I guess. If you don't play post-season with the big boys you aren't really Div 1. JoMo had never even been a G5 head coach.
